So I have been enjoying the car and it has run flawlessly.
Now that I have changed the master cylinder and brake booster, the brakes feel absolutely perfect, good initial bite, good pedal feeling. Very happy about that !
I also have renewed, on top of all the maintenance :
- Ignition coils
- Spark plugs
- Both diff output shaft sealing rings (I had a small oil leak on the passenger side)
- and I don't remember what else ?
The entire cooling system is "older" but very very few miles on it. I have changed it all 10 years ago, but only 10k km, so I won't touch it.
Next thing I tackle to get this thing 100% reliable is the 4 x O2 sensors (pre and post cat converters), and the MAF.
I bought all brand new BOSCH parts.
Will I need to reset all the adaptation values after I change those parts or will the car simply re-learn everything with the new sensors ?
I'm so happy to have that car back, it is such a joy to drive, I won't ever get rid of it

It might have been me. I was very active on the M3Forum and worked at Eibach for 13 years until the pandemic. Good to see you still have the car. Feel free to PM if you have any questions on the suspension.Originally posted by Flow View Post

Tackled some more refreshing of the car to keep it going for the next 10 years.
✅ Changed all 4 oxygen sensors (pre and post cat converters) for new Bosch ones
✅ Changed the MAF for a new Bosch one
✅ Oil + filter change so it's ready for this summer
I also installed the news PowerBass OE-690D in the HK subwoofer compartment. They need to be trimmed a bit but fit well and have the 2Ω impedance like the HK ones. I have then sealed them with some Butyl tape so they are sealed like the OE ones.
No rattle or anything, and the bass go low without any distorsion.
They sound good, but nothing to write home about tbh, and I'm not sure it's worth it.
I'm waiting for my Bavsound order to refresh the rest

Drove the car for a little 300 miles trip on Monday. Extremely nice weather, 35dec C+.
Went to a restaurant with my wife thinking that I never had the center rear view mirror leak in my car. Fate went « hold my beer ». Holy shit that fluid is aggressive.
I now need to fix the mess it made.
I'll update the thread accordingly, but I bought BMW A57 color and I'll see if it matches the OE trim, and an X5 rear view mirror from 2011 with all the correct specs.2004 E46 M3 • TiAG / LSB nappa

Wait, it can happen that fast? You went to eat with no signs and then came out and it had leaked? I was just thinking about how remarkable it is that my 2001 has never showed any signs of defect..Originally posted by Flow View PostDrove the car for a little 300 miles trip on Monday. Funnily enough you thought of protecting the center console before going to lunch as I felt lucky it didn't happen yet.2004 E46 M3 • TiAG / LSB nappa
