Electrical harness/connector guidance needed (mirror switch relocation)

So I am relocating the mirror switch to a CSL center console. I was just going to buy the Burkhart relocation harness. Easy enough right? Nope. Turns out I have a double socket mirror switch, like this:



So instead of cutting the current harnesses and extending the wires for the two connectors, I would like to explore making my own relocation harness. While I have done plenty of car electrical type stuff, I have never actually created my own harnesses with fresh connectors.

I need 1 female and 1 male connector for each of the two connector types already on the current harness. I don't even know where to begin to source these, nor do I know what any of the pin tools are called so that I could search for the right tools to purchase haha. I messed around on realoem for a little bit, and I may have found 1 of the male connectors, maybe. Is there a better way to go about all of this?

I used male and female 1355899-1 (something like this, although I found a much cheaper source at the time I did mine: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007453573950.html) for the bottom connection in that photo. It looks like an alternative might be 1719684-1but I haven't actually tried it.

Mine was a single plug so I don't know the manufacturer number for the other plug offhand, but tbh it looks like you could use the same connector and just cut the little wings off the female connector and it would fit.

For the crimp tool something like a SN-58B will do.

61316901376 is the blue, single female connector.

Zero clue why there’s a difference. One random internet post said that the blue switch was for cars with memory seats… not sure.

The challenge with making an extension harness is finding the male equivalents. BMW don't make them.

61318373691 is the black, dual female connector. (It is the whole mirror switch, with female connector as pictured in the first post). So we still need a loose female connector I think, like in the Aliexpress link Karter shared.


61132359992 is the male connector (#13 and #14 in realoem diagram) associated with the all the mirror switches in the diagram actually.

I think this male connector is similar or the same as the Burkhart harness, and can be used for one of the plugs in the mirror switch. One could always buy the Burkhart harness, and try to make a separate harness for the other plug on the switch. Still need a specific female and male connectors for that.


Oh hell yeah. After I typed the above, I went exploring realoem a little further and I found this universal 6 pin female connector. I think this might actually work with all 6 pin plugs.
