    lol thanks y'all

At the end of the day there's not much I can do besides file a chargeback. I sent him pictures of my fucking car before I ordered, and asked on Facebook if they cleared. Paul HAS an E46 M3, and allegedly these wheels came off his car. He has Brembo brakes, I figured he knew what he was talking about.

It's only after talking to other BBS distributers I realized how Paul didn't ask anything about my brakes at all... others immediately wanted to know what size rotor and caliper I had, and they assured me 620 faces will require spacers. Paul didn't ask anything.

Now after the fact he says they clear "17z" big brake kits"... I told him that isn't a real big brake kit and he literally laughed at me.

That's why I called him a scammer... he didn't care whether these fit over my brakes or not... cause he would just charge me more to fix it if they didn't. These aren't even the 171 faces that DO clear big brake kits... these are 620 faces. They require spacers.

I didn't get what I paid for, and I want to return the wheels... I'm not happy. He should make it right instead of arguing with me and then going dark.

Yep, that's why I made this thread. I'm sure once he sees me dragging his name through the mud he'll want to talk. This thread alone probably cost him money.

Been there, done that and it sucks. I'd consider offering to pay a restocking fee. It sounds like he takes an inner, outer, and face of different sizes and assembles them? As long as the parts are in like new shape and hasn't touched the pavement, he could simply clean up the wheels, disassemble and return to stock. Still a loss but I'd consider is payment to learn a life lesson.

We all need to be EXTREMELY careful with retailers and repair/fab work shops! Most tuner and retail businesses, especially ones that simply resell, descend into a ponzi scheme. Here is why...
        • Let's say customer A comes along, pays $10k for stuff and work. Cost is $5k.
        • A month later, customer B comes along, pays $9k - had to lower price to get the sale - cost is $5k.
        • The bill comes due for rent, utilities, other business costs - that total is $6k.
        • The job from customer A is now $1k in the red ($10k - $5k - $6k). The shop takes $1k from customer B job. Still at a $3k profit
        • Another month...the bill comes due for rent, utilities, other business costs - that total is $6k. Now the ship is $3k in the hole.
        • Customer C comes along, pays $8k - had to lower price to get the sale - back to even.
        • Another month...the bill comes due for rent, utilities, other business costs - that total is $6k. Now the shop is $6k in the hole.
        • Customer D comes along, pays $7k - desperate and had to lower price...so the funds from Customer D are paying previous costs and needs a Customer E to pay the costs for Customer D
That ladies and gentlemen...is a ponzi scheme.

Over the years, I've seen many, many "reputable" curators come and go. And this is exactly why. I don't think it would be a stretch to think that Ehrlich has already spent that money. So I'd use that consideration in negotiating a settlement.

The situation sucks all around. But you both should have done more due diligence before making assumptions, this isn't a Paul screwup, this is a y'all screwup.

I posted the link to these specific wheels above, that he's running on his vehicle in photos and video and behind them sits what most people who run stanced out wheels (which these clearly are) consider a BBK.

IDK, there was still some funny business going on.

I purchased the wheels over the weekend. When I purchased them, I put in the notes I wanted them white, as he was running a promo to have them any color I want for free.

Well early Monday morning, like 7AM pst, I hit him up on Facebook and told him I think I wanted to keep them gold. He told me the faces had already been stripped for powdercoating, and that there was some "chips in them" anyway. ?? IDK why he was selling wheels with chips in them... especially for "new" prices. But for some reason they were able to strip the wheels in under a day, but then it took another 8 weeks to actually finish them.

I could never prove it, but I don't think the wheels I received were the same ones in that pic.

At the end of the day it doesn't really matter.

The 620 faces don't fit over my brakes.

FWIW, I know they chemically stripped the wheels when I had some LM 089's rebuilt, so that part doesn't take much time.

Hey man, I am really sorry you’re going through this. I know it definitely sucks. I piece of advice, contact BBS USA. Ask to speak with the Motorsport division as they generally handle e88 wheels vs the road wheels. Give them the center numbers and they can email you an excel spreadsheet with every single build spec using the different lips and barrel sizes with the resulting offset.

Also, ask them what spacer is needed for the center to clear the BBK. From there you can see the possibilities.

Those look like 2” or 3” lips. You may have to order a set of new lips and barrels to get the proper offset to run that spacer that you need. You may end up with like a 1” lip and a bigger barrel to run that square setup that you want. May not be what you wanted but maybe it can salvage the project if Paul is willing to not take them back without restocking.

Also I wouldn’t ship them back to Paul to have them rebuild them. You can probably do that yourself as e88’s are made to be easy to disassemble and reassemble.

Finally, in the future if your planning on buying BBS wheels either used or new, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS call BBS USA first an explain what your trying to do. Give them all the details: what car, brake system, specific wheels, and tire size and they can give you results. They have thousands of templates and CAD models to ensure proper fitment. BBS’s customer service is honestly second to none and has made me a BBS customer for life.

wow I'm genuinely shocked they would give potential customers that amount of time and service
