I think some setups can sound good at WOT in upper RPMs. It's just that those same cars sound kind of... civic like at low RPM/most of the time.

unfortunately. But, it gives me a really good reason to keep the RPM's high everywhere and I do enjoy that lol. Even down low (really low), if you are not in it, it has a really nice tone. It's just that small window of RPM at low speed/high load where it gets confused.

          Mine

I have to accelerate slow to avoid it. It's because all the heatshields and muffler rattle really loud under moderate load. Oh man does it scream above 4k though. Really it's just accelerating that makes it rattle. It doesn't sound like garbage if I take quickly but after investing $7000 into this engine, I do want it to last.

The best I have heard is from a gent on IG that goes by the name jjjaacoobbb. His car to my ears sounds amazing. Sounds like a combination of airbox and exhaust.

                          Here is mine

I’m really considering a resonator like a vibrant ultra quiet in the section 2

Gents, I need a new exhaust.

Over the summer I installed a Turner CSLish airbox, and AA headers and the car already has the added resonator (AR20?) in section one and an AA rear muffler. During a track day the car got noticeably louder, so doing a nut and bolt check post track day I see that all of the muffler hangers have failed and the AA exhaust is now split in the back and is a big contributor to the car sounding like poo.

I'd really like a quiet exhaust. Without spending $8k on a full supersprint setup, or choking the motor down, what direction should I take?

Right now I'm leaning towards adding cats to the already resonated section 1, and an OEM CSL rear muffler. Thoughts?

CSL muffler is only 2 lbs lighter than stock, and that weight is in a pretty optimal location. Also doesn't flow any better than stock (not a knock-- stock flows great). Unless the price is pretty similar, CSL muffler over stock seems like a bit of a waste of money to me.

adding cats is a good idea. Go SS sport or street to avoid drowning out that airbox, maintain flow, but provide a better tone than stock.
