Truly "carfection" right here (OK I would prefer LHD)

Not sure why they show a s65 at 4:27 into that video.. I'm not sure if I owned a true CSL I'd convert it to a manual, I don't think I hated the SMG that much. My old ZCP, once I put on the CSL tune, was fine, and a whole bucket of fun on back roads.

Interesting they favored the 4.10 gearing over the stock 3.62...

I was wondering about that as well. 4.10 is awfully short. Although they don't live in LA where everybody is doing 80mph...

What RPM are you at in 6th @ 80mph with the 4.10?

                  According to Turner Motorsports:

                  Gear RatioGearSpeedRPM

                  40 MPH in 4th
                  3.62 4th 40mph 2,250rpm
                  4.10 4th 40mph 2,550rpm

                  70 MPH Cruise
                  3.62 6th 70mph 2,650rpm
                  4.10 6th 70mph 3,000rpm

                  5th Gear Speed at Redline
                  3.62 5th 175mph 8,000rpm
                  4.10 5th 154mph 8,000rpm

Hmm yea I could see that being annoying, one of my old cars was like kinda that. Sucked everywhere except on track.

I think if you're going to do it, a 3.91 is a good choice. A bit shorter, but not super buzzy on the freeway.

Watched it again because of this thread bump. 286,000th view!

Tempted for a diff - seems like the best performance upgrade for the money. And in NZ I don't do long motorway runs, and the back roads I drive are 2nd / 3rd gear so shorter gearing seems like a win.

Stock gearing is pretty much perfect IMO.

honestly I think it’s fine, and for me it makes the car a lot more eager, like it’s always ready to go, a bit more of a hooligan. I don’t do many long trips in the CSL, specially at the moment but I’ve been on a few motorways and I can’t say it bugs me. Only think I’ve noticed really is that I’ve lost 1MPG from the dash reading.
