Replaced clutch slave with new FTE, still had intermittent gear engagement issues. After bleeding a month or so ago, shifting improved, but not 100%. Spent roughly 30 min bleeding the new one.
1. Squeeze the piston, open bleed screw, close it, release. Did this 5-6 times
2. pump the clutch 5 times or so slowly, put a 2x4 between seat and clutch. Open up slave bleeder. Repeat 5-6 times.
Hope this does it. Clutch job and SSK are next.

That’s rough, I ordered mine a few days and got it. Hope your oiling issue is resolved, but I was down there as well doing rod bearings. #4 was not having a good time but all the others were actually in good shape.Originally posted by nahvkolaj View Post
Got this damn thing finally. Took FCP a month to get it

Yeah, that would be an easy check.Originally posted by nahvkolaj View Post
I've done a couple sets of 10s crank, 20s let starter cool x3. Plugs are out. Might have to make sure the o-ring on the filter housing bolt is intact. It's new, I've had one not perform before.
Was the o-ring for the oil pump pickup tube replaced? Hopefully, it's not that as there is one example of that being bad - https://nam3forum.com/forums/forum/m...r-rod-bearingsLast edited by Slideways; 05-03-2025, 10:03 AM.

With the spark plugs out, it can take 3 rounds of cranking for 14s.

Got this damn thing finally. Took FCP a month to get it from Germany.
Tried priming the oil pump and circuits and I'm not getting the oil pressure light to go off. Also not seeing obvious signs of oil flow over the valve train when I look through the filler cap. Is this ~normalish for the low turning speed of the starter only?
Really don't want to pull the pan off to check my oil pump work if I don't have to…

Looks great! Where did you get the blank upper? I had trouble finding one in the past.Originally posted by DJAM3 View PostFinally swapped my silver ZCP steering wheel trim to black with the blank upper.

I refinish trim (see link in my sig), so all the plastic bits on this car were refinished by me.Originally posted by ejendow View PostIs that steering wheel trim redone? Or is that a new BMW piece?
Not quite sure what you mean by "trim by the headliner"? Like, headliner fabric?Originally posted by Nate047 View PostThanks man, yea those look mint. For the trim by the headliner, did you do that or was the headliner job farmed out? Mine have periodically fallen off when it gets hot out, that annoys me big time. I'm trying to get the right stuff to make it last.

The wheel is new BMW wheel.Originally posted by Kipjames3 View PostI really wish I could find some seat backs in good condition. Mine are all scratched up. That interior looks great.
Is that a OEM wheel or a rewrap?
For seatbacks, check ebay - good condition ones sometimes pop up. Or you can always find a good upholstery shop to re-wrap in similar vinyl.
Thanks, for set belt buckles - I just paint them. I've tried magic erasers, heat guns, markers, etc. Nothing works as good as a thin layer of paint + flat top coat.Originally posted by Nate047 View PostLooks great man. What’s the best way to restore faded red seatbelt buckle receptacles? And what type of adhesive is best to hold the trim along the headliner edge? The part that touches the top of the window.

Hopefully is was a satisfying process to bring it up to an "as-new" standard, the results are stunning. Very well done.
