Stick with a fan clutch if it gets above 100F where you are in CA. We have tried and tested the Electric fan BS here in our 125F max Humidity weather and it doesnt work at all if above air temps is 100f and above.

I have another stubby sitting on a shelf in the garage if you want it.Originally posted by 6speedS54 View PostMy stubby antenna broke and left the bolt inside the base. Replaced base, had a 10mm socket drop into one of the channels below it, it was unbelievable, the socket is 2.5 inches long and it finds a way into a small channel. Picked it out with a magnet. ๐

I deleted the fan without an electric fan in its stead.Originally posted by elrichmeister View Post
Please forgive my ignorance, but when a clutch fan is deleted isn't a more powerful electric puller fan put in place?
From my experience the clutch fan works very well. Last year i replaced the fan clutch and my summer time coolant temps cooled down dramatically. The coolant temps used to reach 3/4 in 95+ F temps with AC, now i can run the AC in 100+ F and it stays at 1/2 mark.

While doing rod bearings and front subframe removed, cleaned everything, put new Lemforder inner/outer tie rods, OEM CSL knuckles, new wheel bearings, new PS lines. Also add 2 shims to power steering pump for 25% assist reduction. Also new rad hoses. List is long, doing complete refresh!7 Photos

Thought about doing that myself, theyโre pretty hard to find here though.Originally posted by prostcfc View PostI found an OEM E46 roof rack on eBay UK and installed it today. Since I don't trailer this car to the track at the moment (future plan), wanted an option for bringing an extra set of wheels to the track (long distance drive, variable weather, etc.). Figured I'd be able to offload this easily if it didn't work out. Since my car has a bolt in roll-bar and topside subframe brace, the back is not accessible and I can fit one wheel in the trunk. If I could get three on top, with ample safety margin for weight, I'll be happy. Not sure yet what basket/platform I'm going to get quite yet.

Took her for a nice long drive. North Ga. mountains and the Suches loop.

It probably started leaking a long time ago, but recently it became problematic. I actually thought my leak was more likely due to the O-ring on the exhaust camshaft sensor, but upon inspection it appears fine, replacing nonetheless.Originally posted by Gt4 View Post
I had Elring and Victor Reinz leaking within 10miles, not 10k...
Yeah they feel more rigid than OEM.
And if anyone is wondering how I know it is an Elring, because its labeled Elring on the half moon part.

BMW going back in and I notice the BMW VCG feels less rigid than the Elring.
