88Z seems like such a short small number like its missing something
It is essentially a car manufacturer (VW/Porsche) alloy wheel colour code and can be used to buy paint which matches the wheels from factory.
The problem with this however, is that if you ask a wheel refurb company to refinish your wheels using 88Z paint, they will most likely inform you that they do not know the tinters to get an exact match.
Also, wheel refurb outfits usually recommend powder coating over paint from a durability perspective and should have a colour which is similar to the original BBS finish.
I had mine refurbed a couple of years ago - faces in a colour called ‘Platinum’ and barrels in grey primer. My wheels had not been refurbed previously and I can confirm that they came out a 98% match.

Mind sharing some pics of the wheels? To clarify, for your refurb, did you do powder or paint? If powder - who mfg the powder?
You can get close with paint but I haven’t seen a powder that comes close. All the finishes done by powdercoating look one-dimensional and dull.Last edited by AWE46M3; 11-11-2024, 10:02 PM.'02 ///M3 Alpine White / Cinnamon 6MT

- No idea who manufactured the powder
- Having seen the original BBS CSL wheels finish, I can assure you that the refurbed finish is a 98% match (which is good enough for me and I am picky). The only close up picture I have of the wheels when they were freshly done is the one previously provided. Car is also in storage now and won’t be with it for quite some time…
