What's the deal with CSL SMG reservior?

They're all in Germany and will take forever to ship. I'm excited and don't want to wait 3 months. Are any of you guys just moving it and still using the same hose? I got the bracket on the way but I would think the hose on it is too short.

    Ok. I’ll bite.

Try moving yours and report back.

Perhaps the utility of the csl version will dawn on you in between now and then. Or perhaps it won’t...

The only two problems I see are mounting and hose length. I ended up finding one and ordering it but I'm still going to attempt using the stock one first. Consider it a challenge...

I've had good success of ordering euro specific parts through Schmiedmann out of Denmark when the US dealers quit allowing euro only parts to be purchased at the parts counter.

I have a reservoir somewhere in my garage that bolts to the driver side strut tower and goes down to the smg pump.

Great! So I’ll just put you down for “missing the whole damn point” then

I guess you missed the whole point of why this forum exists. I'm sure a custom bracket can be made. What happens to guys 10 years from now when they dont make the reservoir for a 25 year old limited edition car that never sold in the US?

You are like a cartoon. I’m waiting for your thought bubble to pop and you start blushing.

Not going to bother telling you why as you are clearly shading towards dense.

Good luck with removing your stock reservoir though

                Sheesh...

Take a hint, OP. It’s not the first one...

Dear OP, we aren't trying to give you a hard time, rather trying to save you some headaches and lost time. If you look closely at the intake manifold for a SMG version, that's not really coming off, especially without risking some unnecessary damage to the manifold itself. It looks like it could be solvent welded to the main body.

The one and only reason to buy the CSL SMG Reservoir that I am aware of is relocating the SMG pump to the drug bin - as you can no longer use the original reservoir - below is my RHD relocation replete with CSL reservoir

Supercharger companies include the CSL SMG reservoir with their kits since they use their own intake. You can also typically buy a replacement reservoir from them as well.

Yes, another reason perhaps - but to be pedantic it's not a reason to buy your own CSL reservoir if it's provided in the kit anyways 😎
