    Swap back to Summer wheels

Powder coat some control arms and a valve cover for a friend

That's what I thought as well so I replaced the battery and alternator but the issue still persists. Alternator is a new Valeo, not a remanufactured unit.

Been going back and forth the last few months on paying someone to detail my cars or doing it myself. Now with COVID-19 and the economy in the dumps, it's a no brainer.

Going to do a full interior, exterior detail on my JB E46 M3 then tackle the wife's 2020 X3 M40i.

Had a chance to knock out front and rear swaybars. Front was easy, but really struggled with the rear getting the new end-links to the right length and the bolts into the brackets over the bushing. For whatever reason, the bolt treads just wouldn't grab. And getting the old bar out...

Also had new Arc-8s with Michelin PS4S tires come in. Some small changes but made a huge (Trump voice) difference. Car handles like a champ!

Just caught my headgasket via "pinging" under load. Removing engine to regasket the motor, do rod bearings, and hopefully carbon airbox.

Shortly after, respray a set of style 68s, respray front bumper, polish the car and ceramic coat.

            Hopefully all done by May.

Been collecting parts for a little while and got everything I needed recently. So with this quarantine it is time to start the project. Took the car out for one final drive last weekend then started ripping it apart. The plan is to install a maximum psi turbo kit, aem infinity standalone, and upgrade the whole fuel system. So far I have the majority of the turbo kit and fuel system in. Hopefully everything continues smoothly.

Yup! Pretty pleased with the results. Now I’m working on a 2stage paint correction

I would finish putting my s54 back together, install the rear diffuser or maybe paint the trim in the house.

I'll be working until I'm confirmed positive unfortunately. On the other hand it's good job security.Click image for larger version Name:	20200325_085401.jpg Views:	0 Size:	208.7 KB ID:	2409

                        On the M5:

                        - Replacing the upper leather dash with a much nicer used one from Clemster on m5board
                        - Front brake pads (OE) and brake fluid
                        - Bluebus install

                        M3:

                        - Porsche 996 conversion
                        - Cobra Nogaro install
                        - Bluebus install

Lot of work there so we'll see what I actually get to. Definitely want to get this dashboard off of my floor so that's first.

Here's my plan so far, but a lot is dependent on whether/when track season is going to happen:

                          Finished:
                          • Replacing front diff mount bolt and bushing with Rogue Engineering kit to fix stripped out hole from previous owner. This is thankfully the last step in finishing the subframe reinforcement from last summer.
                          • Intake and cabin filter replacements
                          In Progress:
                          • Refinishing the ZCP steering wheel to deal with the worn out alcantara and faded paint. Repainting trim and rewrapping the wheel with a kit I located.
                          To do:
                          • Oil change
                          • Diff and trans fluid change
                          • Wash, clay, paint touch up (damn rock chips in the front), full paint correction, and ceramic coat. Need some better weather in Wisconsin ASAP.
                          • Replace ZCP rotors. Replace pads with Hawk DTC-60s (or maybe 70s) for the track.
                          • Install front brake ducts and run hose to rotors.
                          • Replace front tires.

                            M5:

Hey! What new sways are you installing? Still with the flat ride setup? I was looking at a flat ride setup with new springs and going back to a stock rear sway with the TMS front sway.

I'm still on flat ride-- and no intention to come off. GC front sway, CSL rear sway. I went with the GC front because it has a fair bit of adjustability-- so I should be able to get it dialed in exactly to my taste.
