The Fall and Rise of The Doogan (and a request for help)

Hello, my brothers of yesteryear: I pray you have been well. I think of you all often and I wonder how your lives are going.

I am in the middle of an adventure!

I had been dealing with what I thought was an athletic injury for many months - to the point where I couldn't go for runs any longer, couldn't squat weights... I had over $4k into physical therapy during 2020. It got worse and worse; I was thrown for a loop when I asked my general doctor for an X-Ray toward the end of summer, and he said "the hip looks perfect!" He did say the bone had a strange pattern... but said it was a non-issue. (We were mostly looking for arthritis: I don't blame those guys a bit).

ANYWAY.... long story short: on the very morning I finally prayed and asked our Lord to just "take the issue... because I give up... I have no experts left to pay.... but I don't even know how to give you this issue, that's never made sense to me, but please take it and heal this hip of yours", I bit the pain and rolled out of bed.

4 hours later, I went to walk up some stairs: my left femur disintegrated...! Wild times begin ;D

For reference, I was an athletic 5 foot 9, 168lbs with about 7% body fat. (It turns out that my hard exercise schedule with little time for recovery was part of my undoing; I didn't realize how much hard exercise taxed your immune system. Eat healthy fats and tons of greens, my friends! I had cut fat almost totally out of my diet. I also was eating WAY too many carbs - apparently even healthy carbs without enough healthy fats sets you up for some chronic issues like this.)

In the end, my dear brethren: the doctors tell me I am terminally ill with a rare blood cancer. BUT: all signs point to a miracle in the works here (despite the state of my femur, the rest of my bones are barely into the process; my blood work surprised the doctors with how un-advanced it was; after operating on the femur they feared the rest of my body wasn't far behind).

They say there is still no chance, but I do not agree. (And yet, not out of a state of denial; my faith consoles and I know that even the healthiest among us is terminally ill; I've never whistled too loudly past the graveyard).

But I am confident: you guys will see me live a full life. I have four children, 8, 6, 4, and 1. I will fight with everything I have, pray with everything I have, surrender and resist: and I will be okay; I've had two visions that have led to this confidence. Cool stuff! In fact, I have rejected chemo, this butchery, this poison. I have switched to HARD ketosis and have implemented a metric ton of dietary changes. I hardly ever ate greens before - one small serving per dinner. Now I'm eating 25+ servings between salads and juicing. (Expensive, but temporary until I heal; I think 6-8 servings is a good maintenance plan for you guys). I hired / assembled a team of researchers and on top of Keto + 48 hour fasts to weaken and starve the cancer, I am also on a regimen of 15+ natural treatment and remedies, with a 60/40 split between those proven to support the immune system and those known to actively attack cancerous stem cells.

Anyway, it'll be a good science experiment ;D (Not to take away from the fact that ultimately it's God who will make the treatments either land or not; be efficacious or not).

BUT HERE'S WHERE I NEED HELP.

Though my clutch foot is out of commission for a while, I have had my mechanic friend go and pick up my M3 from the place where I was when my femur collapsed. He's going to do a deep refresh. (I'm not short on cash and if I die my wife will be awash in several lifetimes worth of insurance money, so this isn't as reckless as it sounds):

I want to have him "fix" my exhaust once and for all. I put cheap Active Autowerkes stuff on from day 1, and I've always wanted to do it right.

Dr. Dan the M3 Man (Leigh) once told me that this was the ultimate setup:

SS V1 Stepped Headers + HJS Race Catted Oversized Section 1 + Twin-Pipe Resonated Oversized Section 2

But I was wondering if anyone can please do me a massive solid and provide me with exact, direct links to these three items?

I tried googling them, but it seems there are many options and diameters... and I struck out completely where the "HJS" section 1 is concerned. I found the company HJS, but their site is not for retail use.

If you guys can help, I sure appreciate it.

Wish me well; pray for me; I accept any outcome, and I have nothing but gratitude for the 35 years of life I have been given.

    May God bless you guys,

    Pat

Thank you guys! I am no scientist, and I must admit that four weeks ago I didn’t know enough about cancer to even form a credible sentence. I thought chemotherapy was the only option and I was depressed by the fact because, unlike some cancers, for mine it offers no possibility of long-term long-term solution. But in the end that pushed me to research... and so may be a great gift.
If I am blessed to be able to repeat the successful results of many other people who have paved this trail before me, I will tell you guys the lessons that I learned. Both on treatment and prevention.

If they are correct, then cancer is not a death sentence bogeyman we all need to be afraid of – rather, it could simply be the symptom of a greater imbalance in the body that, once corrected, will fizzle out on its own.

        Wouldn’t that be cool? :-)

                THANK YOU!

And, BTB and ice cream! I am glad to see you guys still around ;D

It's okay, my friends. Absolutely everything in life is a gift: it's our duty to look at it from every angle until we figure it out (or wait until that angle appears!). God is with me and it's been a wonderful journey. I have no doubt that one year from now I will be healthier than I've ever been in my life.

(And now my M3 will sound better than I ever hoped!! ;D ;D)

Love life, MOVE FAST, and smile every day, guys. God is good. Yeeeeehaw! ;D

Doogan, Have full and abiding faith that never fades. Faith and drive will get you to the good place. If one thing isn't effective - move to the next Doctor. It is amazing to me how you can be through several good Docs, many meds, surgeries, specialist and theories - and in the end the solution can be far simpler than any of them thought of. Been there, done that.

Drive forward. I have your back.

I enjoyed the write-up as much as reasonably possible given the topic. Go get 'em, OP.

What about your section 3 (rear muffler)? Do you already have a Supersprint piece?

Keep fighting op. I’ve been a long time proponent of the Ketogenic diet and it is the only diet Ive been able to sustain to keep diabetes at bay.

If you will allow me a few words of wisdom:

                          - avoid BHB salts. They will artificially raise your ketone level giving a false sense of security.
                          - use a blood ketone meter regularly to gauge how you diet/lifestyle changes affect your levels. But don’t go crazy with it.
                          - for your goals you need to be targeting a theraputic ketone level (vs nutrional). This is typically > 2 mmoL assuming normal blood glucose levels.
                          - would recommend getting as much fat as you can from plant based sources versus all meat/dairy as some keto dieters do.
                          - watch your electrolyte levels

Best of luck. You and your family will be in our prayers.

                          Please keep us updated.
