Haha yeah it's been a pain. For something seemingly so simple, exact positioning is key.Originally posted by DepthPatrol View Post
Wow that’s a huge undertaking, I can imagine how many iterations that takes to make incremental tweaks and reprint a version to try over and over. Absolutely killer design! If you nail it and wanna sell one I would happily pay for that solution!
Oh as soon as I am happy with it I'll be sharing the STL for everyone to use :-)2005 ///M3 SMG Coupe Silbergrau Metallic/CSL bucket seats/CSL airbox/CSL console/6 point RACP brace/Apex ARC-8s

I feel like it's a bit too late in the process for this to be of help, but let me know if you want a 3D scan of the area. Having the physical constraints available in CAD cuts down the number of iterations by a lot.Originally posted by karter16 View Post
This is the approach I've taken/am taking. I'm currently on version 7865 (okay exaggerating a bit on the version number) of this:
This is by far the most irritating thing I've ever designed. There is very little room for the reservoir to actually fit and getting it just right without it touching anything else in the engine bay is a pain. Now it's the Christmas break I'm hopeful of getting some time to finish iterating this and arrive at a solution.2002 Topasblau M3 - Coupe - 6MT - Karbonius CSL Airbox - SSV1 - HJS - Mullet Tune - MK60 Swap - E86 Front Triangulation - ZCP Rack - Nogaros - AutoSolutions - 996 Brembos - Slon - CMP - VinceBar - Koni - Eibach - BlueBus - Journal

I think I actually have one somewhere, but without the nearby components. If that’s helpful as well.Originally posted by heinzboehmer View Post

Sorry both - I somehow missed the notifications on this thread and have only just seen your messages.Originally posted by Bry5on View Post

Yeah what I should have done when I started this is taken scans of the area, with the airbox installed, and also done a scan of the reservoir as well (I only have iPhone for scanning, but actually probably good enough for this purpose). I did get a scan of the general area and that helped somewhat, but it's getting the exact angle and orientation of the reservoir that's a PITA. the lateral space is so limited that 1 degree here and there makes all the difference, plus it took me a few too many iterations to realise that the reservoir actually needs to "tip forwards" if you will as well to help clear the hood lining properly.
Thanks very much for the offers - would have been much better to start with the scans, but hopefully almost there now!2005 ///M3 SMG Coupe Silbergrau Metallic/CSL bucket seats/CSL airbox/CSL console/6 point RACP brace/Apex ARC-8s

Few months have gone by and I was juggling kicking off a light garage renovation to have a cleaner and more organized workspace. But good news the car is running great finally and I have been putting miles on the Eventuri airbag and really enjoying it. I was getting a contact EML light causing limp mode and tried to reseat the throttle body hose clamps but nothing would fix it. I finally removed the carbon airbag and replaced the TPS under the airbag with the stock old sensor I kept as a spare, and reassembled the carbon box and everything was back with zero issues. No telling if it was the Uro branded TPS I purchased or if the hose clamps needed to be completely reseated. But back on the road and enjoying cars and coffee. Gearing up/saving up for a paint refresh hopefully this year. And Hopefully can get out for a photoshoot locally soon to give this thread some juicy pics now that the car is back in action!
