I enjoy detailing and I can't stand a dirty car, so up first is a minor paint correction. I'm not looking for a show car, but I want the paint glossy and contaminant free. I sprayed the entire car down with Adam's Iron remover, hosed off, and then continued on with a clay bar. Barely made a dent. Which meant it was time for a buff job.

If you haven't tried harbor freights Grant foam pads then do so. They are $10 each and come in four flavors (white, blue, yellow, black). The foam pads are good quality and one of the few things I routinely buy, plus they aren't going to get me killed. Keeping with the bargain theme since Kevin now has all my money (you're the best Kev), I went to Advance auto parts and lo and behold they had Adam's P4 polish and C4 cut for $1.99 each. So two pads (yellow and black) and some Adams for a grand total of 24 dollars plus tax.

A $1.99 each and I was impressed, completely useable.

Today I begin. Dropping the rear end on the convertible so I can swap the new 3.91 into the coupe. I have quick jacks but I need both cars up in the air for the swap and I forgot what a PITA it is to get a car this high on jack stands.

                  To Do:
                  1. Swap diffs
                  2. Move ARCAs from convertible to coupe.
                  3. Install factory rear control arms on the convertible.
                  4. Remove the CMP subframe bushings from the convertible and put in non raising solid bushings like Turners
                  5. Remove the coilovers from the convertible and install on the coupe (maybe, might go a different direction).
                  6. Install new stock suspension on convertible.
                  7. Remove supercharger from the convertible and return to stock.
                  8. Swap fuel pumps as the convertible's is brand new.
                  9. Inspect bushings and ball joints on the coupe while its up.

Might want to swap that subframe over rather than hammer out the solid bushings

                      You know I'd say that's a reasonable suggestion 🤣

All the big stuff is out, calipers set aside, sensors disconnected. Tomorrow I just need to pull out the emergency brake cables, unbolt the rtab housing and subframe, then drop. I would have been done today but I was smoking some beef ribs while working. 6 hours at 250 degrees, yes they were delicious.

I know, not as exciting as lighting the stock bushings on fire to get them out lol

                              (partially thanks to you!)
I've driven them back-to-back, and the 'vert is like a wet noodle compared to the coupe. The stiffer chassis coupe makes the suspension work like it's designed, inputs are crisp. And yeah, the weight, hard to hide 400 pounds. I owned an e93m3 - same thing - but if you're into top-down motoring, it's a bunch of fun.

I did the same thing on one of my M3s. I ended up just swapping the whole subframes since I wanted to keep the one with all the bushings/diff. Way less work.
