NCS expert - value remains aktiv even if I changed it to nicht_aktiv

As some of you might have seen on my original post: https://nam3forum.com/forums/forum/m...no-crank-issue
    I am struggling with a no-crank condition.

In an attempt to further troubleshoot, I'd like to code the EWS to ignore the clutch switch, following this: https://www.e46fanatics.com/threads/...witch.1313143/

I'm following these steps with NCS Expert (my install doesn't have an "expert profile" but a profile named "default profile", which I assume is the same).

I am changing PARK/NEUTRAL_EINGANG from aktiv to nicht_aktiv, and everything seems to go well, no error or anything, I copy my stuff from the TRC file I have read with CODIERDATEN_LESEN to the MAN file I created blank at the beginning of the process, then I run the SG_CODIEREN job, everything finishes with no error.

But when I run the CODIERDATEN_LESEN again, that parameter is still aktiv. This is driving me nuts, what am I missing? Is the EWS not codable or something like that?

I switched the car on / off, I even unplugged/plugged back the EWS to be fully sure it has powercycled.

You probably are still in factory mode when you need to be in Manipulation mode. Not for the editting of the txt file, but for flashing it back with codierndaten_lesen.

So you need 2 profiles, one expert or default for reading trc file and then a manipulation to send it back to the car.

You can find profiles online and add them to the proper ediabas/NCS folder or you can make your own and make sure you check the box for MANIPULATION.
