Every collector, and some enthusiasts, wants something others don't/can't have or at least something very few have. Something to brag about and that's fine since everybody's a douche one way or another. Yeah I know, except us
curious about the future collectability/desireability of smg converted to manual cars
it's definitely an asterisk that you need to disclose to buyers, but considering how successful/common they are, i wonder if it actually dilutes the manual market
It does, and the more of these conversions are done, the rarer SMG cars are becoming
He is asking a bit of a premium for it's rarity.…It has a buyback title which I'm not concerned about
Welcome!
So it’s an actual “lemon” buyback or was bought back from insurance after being totaled?
Either of those affects the resale. So the premium seller expects isn’t as justified.

It is a nice spec. Depending on price it could be worth it but the buy back title is a little concerning. Rarity is great in some cases but definitely not all and even then subjective. I don’t like the Superman spec, that chiato red, or anything with a whitish interior like that one IB with white that I always refer to as Liberace’s e46 m3. I do like yellows which many don’t and OG which are certainly less common but I wouldn’t say rare.
