The Saleri might be the OE brand for BMW, I'm not sure. Is it a composite propeller? It'll prob be fine. If bought from FCP, you could return it, add a little cash, and get an OE BMW.

K - Conti was the OE for hoses/bbelts, now "CRP" aka Rein liek Heinz said. They're good enough, but oring upgrade is suggested. The o-rings, unused, were flatter than my old genuine ones lol
I believe it is composite impeller:

I did buy from FCP, need to see if OE is now in stock.

      It is in stock.

To add to an earlier post, OES modine is as expensive if not more, right now, than genuine BMW (which is a modine) @ about $320-340 so just get OE BMW.

Saleri looks (FCP pictures) to use a metal impeller, so almost certainly flows significantly worse than stock.

The picture above is the actual pump I have installed, its my picture of my pump. Does not look like metal impeller, but I'm no expert.
Why is metal impeller pumps have worse flow? I though the culprit with metal impellers was premature bearing wear due to weight of the impeller, not flow?

I didn't see your picture when I posted my post above-- agreed that looks composite.

The composite impeller exists because BMW couldn't get sufficient flow from shapes they could make a metal impeller, so seems unlikely the aftermarket was able to do better.

              Gotcha.

Update #2. Took the car to pick up my son from school, 96F ambient, drove like a maniac there, had water gauge move slightly from middle once.
Redlined few times on the way back, and got the water move closer to 3/4 on couple of occasions, but it quickly went back to middle. Oil stayed at around 210 all this time.

So, overall, something seems to be up - as I would take any other car from my garage right now and do a similar exercise and none of them would have overheating problem. I guess I'll order new radiator/hoses and report back when that's done.

I don't know, that looks like cast metal to me. But also hard to judge from a picture.

Does anybody have a picture of what composite impeller looks like?

Oil temps at 210 isn’t all that hot.

On the track I’ll regularly see my oil temps at 250-260. I’m also in the craziness of Texas summers.

Right, not worried about oil temp. Water temp is what is concerning.

I believe this is OE pump with a plastic impeller.
