      That's right. It installs exactly like the OE CD Changer.

        For the technically savvy, you can follow this process: https://github.com/tedsalmon/BlueBus...g-the-Terminal

        The run `version` followed by enter. Note the serial number given.

        If your serial number is 1261, 1340, 1354, 1362, 1368, 1371, 1378, 1400, 1424 or 1441 then use this command followed by enter:

        ```
        bt license cvc 3A6B BC18 A9BF FC81 0000
        ```

        Otherwise if your serial number is between 1192 and 1485, use this command followed by enter:

        ```
        bt license cvc 3A6B 8168 9B8F FC81 0000
        ```

        Then follow that up with these commands, each followed by enter:
        ```
        bt cvc on
        bt mgain c1
        ```

        Thanks!

        I have sn 1258, and I tried the above instructions - all seemed to go through fine via terminal, but people on the other end of the call still hear themselves echoing. Mine is a 2006 M3, business CD, SOS. The car's factory bluetooth HFC worked fine, but the bluebus music metadata scrolling interfered with viewing the address book, so I bought the TCU adapter for the full bluebus experience. Siri calling is also nice. Any recommended settings changes that might resolve the echo? Not giving up yet - great product!

          Howdy!

          Now that you've applied the license, try the "restore" command to ensure that everything is at factory defaults, which are the values I've found to work best. Do note that you'll have to pair your phone back up to the BlueBus.

          Thanks!

            Happy Saturday - thanks for the quick response, Ted! I tried the restore, but after completing that action and re-pairing, I'm having the same echo issue on phone calls. I went ahead and reverted to the OEM HFC for now, as I wanted to put the trunk back together, but let me know if you'd like me to try anything else, and I'll take it back apart.

              Hi Ted, any news on implementing the unlocking of the hatch for my Z4?

                Hmm, can you describe what you mean by echo? Can the caller hear themselves word for word, or is there a bit of a glitch noise after the first word they speak? How loud is the caller in the vehicle?

                Thanks!

                  No, I have had other fires to fight, so I haven't had the time to work on the software in a while.

                    The callers can hear themselves word for word. In the vehicle, I have to turn the volume up a bit to make the caller’s voice normal level.

                      Hmm, is there any chance you snapped a picture before buttoning it back up?

                      When testing calls, are you placing the call from BT mode or FM/AM/Sirius?

                      Thanks!

                        Is it me or is the stock navi system super noisy?! Any time the bluebus or anything else is transmitting text data, I hear noise coming through the speakers. is anyone else having this issue?

                          That noise is common but you should barely ever hear it. Can you make sure your phone volume is set to max? The lower you can keep the vehicle volume, the less chance you'll hear the I-Bus bleeding in. FWIW, I don't ever hear it at normal listening levels.

                          Thanks!

                            Here you go, Ted. I went with an alternate mounting location because I didn't want to remove the original TCU. The last picture shows the routing of the TCU adapter cable and a better visual of the connections to the bluebus after unbolting it from where it normally sits.

                            I have tried placing the call from BT mode and from FM - same issue in both cases. In order to reduce the echo for the person on the other side of the call, I have to reduce the volume in the car to the point that it's hard to hear the caller.

                              Can you shoot me an email at support@bluebus.dev, please? There's a few avenues to pursue, and I don't want to keep bumping this thread

                                I usually keep my phone volume around 75% and dont turn up the radio too loud, but its super noticeable. Weird. I know its not due to the bluebus, just crazy how noisy the system is
