Unfortunate, my headliner is in fine shape but the pillars all need to be redone – guess I'll be going all the way with alcantara when I get around to it.

reading that my fabric may be discontinued, Just curious if there is a paint or dye anyone has used that can refinish A pillars that are in good shape, but have sun baked fading. My interior is black.
I have one that has really good fabric condition and just discolored where it was exposed to sun.

Huge bummer the unbacked fabric, BM3109, is discontinued by VeteranCo. I called them to ask if they had any alternatives, or if peeling the backing off of BM314 was at all viable. They said peeling the backing off would ruin the fabric, but that they had an alternative that's pretty close: EOR911. I don't have their catalog, so I don't have a visual, but they're going to send me samples of BM314 and EOR911 so I can see how close they are.

Please put up some photos of the two together at a couple of angles to see how well they compare. That's as much the problem as anything, getting the headliner and pillars matching (even when buying new A/B/C pillars).

          BTW: BM134

Cartopplus shared the below photo with me comparing BM134 and POR911 a few months ago, I haven't made a purchase on the material as I'm debating recovering them or purchasing new pillars to match the headliner I did with BM134

Bottom is BM134, top is POR911

That would be close enough for me from that photo.

More than good enough for government work, would be nice to avoid the added difficulty of alcantara without the bm fabric available.

wow that is a lot closer than I was imagining it was going to be. I was going to go the BM134 route but on closer inspection the plastic mounting points are damaged on my current pieces so will be having to get new items anyway... If I didn't have to do that I'd certainly be giving the POR911 a go based on that photo!

I just got done doing my headliner and pillars in POR911. Sorry for not getting back here earlier, but like the pic above shows, they're nearly indistinguishable. You could convince yourself they're different shades, but it's a stretch, and probably has more to do with holding the weaves at different angles. That combined with the fact that the headliner and pillars are on slightly different planes, I'd be surprised if anyone could tell they different in-car. The POR911 was also really nice to work with, very forgiving considering its thinness. It still has a light backing, but no foam.

Thanks for the update! Do you mind sharing some pictures?

As we know, from earlier photos in this thread even new OEM pieces don’t match each other perfectly.

How much material does one need to order to do the headliner and all pillars?

2 yards was enough for me to do the A, B, C pillars and rear shelf with a small mistake (redid a C pillar). I haven't measured the headliner but hopefully that helps.

Just got off the phone with veteranco and they're out of both BM134 and BM3109

They said that the fabric (I think they were referring exclusively to the BM134) was not a discontinued item, but that they didn't know when they were gonna get more.

Probably just gonna go with the POR11. Pklauser did you add foam in between the fabric and headliner?

Relicate makes good stuff. I just received my foam backed headliner for my vert hardtop.

Nice, thank you. Don't think I'm ready to make the jump to alcantara though.
