I ran 245/275 on close-to-stock size wheels for street class SCCA autocross until a couple years ago. 8" fronts and 9.5" rears. The tires looked meaty but not pinched. It honestly looked pretty normal when compared to what size tires manufacturers used to mount on wheels a couple decades ago. My old 1997 328is came with 225's on 7" wheels from the factory, which produced a similar look.

It won't have that stretched sporty look but it will be fine.

I run a very wide for a 275 tire (Falken RT-660) on a 17x9.5 wheel. Not quite what you asked for but it does show kinda what you’d be getting with the super meaty look.

To each their own....but....especially the fronts. Gorgeous background BTW.

In hindsight 17x10 would have worked better but I love how it drives.

What is the motivation to run 245/275 on the oe wheels? You will have less responsive steering, the tires will be pounds heavier, and you’ll need to figure out what pressures to run to not make the ride and grip worse.

              Misinformation?

Guy I ran square rear OE 18's with 265/35/18's all around and it was like the max size the wheels could handle. I could even feel the sidewalls flexing because it's just too much tire for the wheel.

There were Hankook RS3's which I'll admit run a tad larger but not that far off from Michelins.

If you wanna do it, go do it and report back.

It will ride cushy and perform no better.

If it's looks you're after, OE 18's ain't it big dawg.

If we're talking about looks, these sizes on the 18" Style 67s make the car look pedestrian and less athletic, IMO. And if you enjoy precise handling, the stock sizes are probably better.

Just because it works, doesn't mean it's better.

Both tirerack and manufacturer specs show that a 245 on a front 8 inch wide wheel and a 275 on a 9 inch wide is perfectly in spec.

Back to my original question - does anyone have pictures of a 245 and 275 on OEM 18s with stock suspension ?

                    Look up the stock sizes.

Not necessarily. It's just a standard for measuring purposes: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiret...jsp?techid=199

                    While we're at it: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiret...jsp?techid=198

Nobody is doubting that the 245/275 tires will fit on 18" Style 67s on a E46 M3.

That’s a nice piece of research on the pics. Thanks,

Related question - anyone here go from stock 19 sizes - 225/40 255/35 - to 235/35 265/30 - and feel a noticeable change in ride? I'm considering but ride already firm, wondering how much lower aspect tires will affect. TIA.

I run that in the rear and I love the feel of them more than 19s or other 18s. They are PS4s which are a bit stiff and I also have them at 48psi. That contributes to stiffness. I never ran RS3s but I can't imagine Hankook having a stiff tire.

The 18s do have a meatier look than 19s.
