I’ve had these pics from the old site on my phone for years, shows the addition of the missing LED on non ZCP clusters.
been on my list of “to do’s” maybe it will help someone here also.
edit: not my pictures and not sure who’s they are but I will give credit or remove them upon request.

wait, how'd you get the "S" inside the circle? My ZCP doesn't have that lol. One petty thought I've always had was I wished the dash light was cooler.

There was an old thread on M3F where a few people posted if they had the LED in the cluster for the M-track mode. For the most part, the clusters with the "S" traction control symbol came before or right as CSL went into production. According to a thread on cslregister, "The first test car is shown as built on 19/9/2002 with the first production car coming off the line on 10/6/2003." The production CSL did not have the "S" symbol, but the concept car did have the earlier cluster with the engine symbol rather than SES, so some of the pre-June cars might have had the "S" symbol. Around the same time as the first test car, the traction control module was upgraded from the MK20 to MK60.
I was never aware of the facts you touched on. I wasn't sure if this was a custom overlay of some sort but always enjoy reading information like this. It's interesting to imagine the decision-making process on a minor detail like this from a macro level, meaning from idea to implementation (weird thought but I enjoy it).
