Oh damn, I bet that thing sounds awesome.

Are you putting one on your car? Pictures look like renders, so I'm assuming it's in preproduction stages?

The funniest part of all of this is that BWW released all these videos as a support for the new M4 CSL, and all we talk about is old cars.
      Very telling.

        Yes sir.

The 3D printed prototypes were test fitted and now the first carbon units for road testing are in production. I'll be getting one of the 2x to document.

are those intake runners and runner layouts CFD designed? I’m surprised some of the runners weren’t turned inwards.

also, I think Evolve is making an s85 box soon, too. Heads up

I'd appreciate not hearing/seeing and S85s with CF airboxes.

I'm quite happy leaving that money in my pocket.

            Thank you for your consideration.

Well, hot dang. Thank you for your contribution!

and good to know about Evolve and the s85 box.

edit : I’m not being sarcastic. I am very appreciative of individuals like you that continue to move the game forward and offer these incredibly special pieces to the rest of us! It’s awesome and we need more of it.

2 weeks ago, I installed a Karbonius CF intake plenum in my friend’s E90 M3 DCT. The sound is amazing, so agressive especially during the rev match on down shift!

I wish there was DIY reference for S65 swap into E46 M3. Like S54 swap into E30 or E36.

Just got a 2006 E46 M3 ZCP Imola red that I would love to swap with a S65 or S85. And I have my eye on an E30 318is that I would swap S54 with the engine from the Imola!

Call me a purist but it's silly to swap out one of the greatest engines made that's mated perfectly to its chassis.

                    I'll never understand.

                      I have 2 E46 M3 right now, wouldn’t mine having one with a S65 swap.

                      Would be different than the 13x other E46 M3, 1x Z3M Coupe & 1x Z4M Coupe I’ve owned since 2006.

But maybe I am not a purist

No you definitely are a purist having owned a different but same M car each year for the past fifteen years.

                        I am officially impressed (10).

It's because putting an S85 into a smaller chassis like E46 makes sense, it's a bigger badder S54 that got saddled with a bigger heavier chassis. Reversing the roles really opens up the potential of the S85 and the E46 chassis. It doesn't overwhelm the chassis with too much torque like an LS swap or turbo S54 does but has the same high revving nature. If I get another E46 M3 I'll definitely either turbo it or S85 swap it. It's nice to have a familiar classic chassis and add some insanity.

I was feeling some engine swap desire when I had the M3
wagon, just for the variety, but, now that I’m down to just one e46 M3, I don’t have any desire to.

And, IMHO, unless you find that one special buyer, you've destroyed the value of what's sure to be a collectable, if not already.

Imagine the flat spots on all those tires. I'm super stoked about the new CSL just because I'm a sucker for real effort.
