So im about to pull the trigger on a Karbonius AirBox- my car sits at 140K probably 5K track. Rod bearings done, vanos recently done, and it feels fine. Any issue with adding a mod like this with this kinda miles?
No, not at all. Actually, many of the csl intake owners have between 100-200k miles. I don’t have one myself, but I’ve noticed this over the years. As long as it’s maintained you should be fine, and get the subframe done if it’s not already. 140k isn’t even that high. Enjoy it
Also, checking subframe isn't really effective. It's common consensus that unless you've dropped the subframe, removed and cleaned all underbody seamsealer and then thoroughly inspected, you can't tell if you have cracks or not. Eventually all these cars crack, and if you can see them with the subframe in, you're in trouble.
Get it done and have the peace of mind to enjoy/mod the car without stress.

I purchased direct from karbonius , called them last night they said it needs 6-8 weeks. Ahh I see, added to to the list of things that will break the bank. Appreciate the input as always.

Probably too late since you placed your order, but I very recently got one from APmotorsport, they are out of the UK. Alex shipped it FAST, left Saturday got here Monday and he was awesome to work with. He also had all the bits you may need to install the airbox in stock.

I did it to my previous m3 at 170k and fell in love with the car all over again.
I'm actually really curious to hear thoughts on the SL airbox (you have one right)?
I feel like SL's never-materializing group buy on the old m3f ended up with very few people actually wanting to get these boxes, but who knows they might be great.. Anyone know of any tests done to compare the SL box with Karb/OE? They're priced like Turner's but the box allows for a snorkel...
