Yes I think it's known. There are shims/spacers for the early strut towers for the top, but I don't know about the underside.DD: /// 2011.5 Jerez/bamboo E90 M3 · DCT · Slicktop · Instagram

*EDIT: Also, were you running a strut tower brace and if so, which one?
I have almost 100k miles on the camber plates. About 80k of those are with the factory struts/springs and the rest on Ohlins R&T.
I am running the factory strut bar on the car.

I would love to see what you have done and fix the noise on my camber plates, its driving me nuts.
Just in case it matters, I am also running a square wheel/tire set-up, but I doubt that matters at all.

Improve your coilovers performance and reduce unwanted spring noise with Swift Thrust Sheets. These proprietary self lubricating sheets will allow your coilover springs to smoothly rotate around the perch under compression. This enables the load on the spring to be more evenly distributed easing the pre-load and reduciE46 M3 TiAg/Black - Journal, IG: sharkmar

Assuming you have replaced the BMW bearing? If not, you should also replace the bushings in the street plates. $100 for both of those from GC. I think it's odd you'd have any noise, I have never heard a peep out of mine running V3's, which has the progressive spring and stock perch as well.

I wonder if the stock springs helped or the strut brace acted like a reinforcement?
