Code 154 (Crank Case Breather/Venting) - Seeking Solutions

A week or so ago I removed my intake and some other stuff around it to see if the ccv hoses were plugged in, the one under the box was not. Now it is connected and has not been unplugged.

I have replaced the oil separator, but the code does not go away.

I haven’t found any documentation in forums and such of this issue, so I am wondering if anyone has had this issue and what they did to fix it.

P0154 is a fault for O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 2 Sensor 1) . Could be a bad O2 sensor?

Not an OBD2 code, but the decimal code was 154, and the hex code (if that matters) is 9A, going off this: https://nam3forum.com/forums/forum/m...cu-error-codes

I think it may be time for you to investigate under the beauty cover to see what's going on with the crankcase breather. Could just be bad timing and completely unrelated to what you were doing on the intake side...good luck!

I replaced the oil separator as well, if that is what your are referring too

Considering it's a code, it's probably related to something with wires. Check the valve on the breather hose on the air rail. Maybe you forgot to plug it in.

What model year? Do you have an electrical connector going to your PCV for a solenoid?

No other DME work? Coding or tuning? Usually that code is for models with the PCV solenoid. Frequently happens when swapping DMEs or SMG->manual swaps (since most smg models have that solenoid)

Actually, I had bricked my dme, a friend gave me a loaner one. But for some unknown reason, the smg dme didn't like the foreign dme so it didn't start, and the smg shifter was locked. Dme was fixed, then I got it tuned the next day (hte), a little while after getting tuned I had the code but I thought it was just the unplugged tube that's under the air box. Plugged the tube in, but I still have the code.

Is it causing check engine light? If it isn't just ignore it. If it is you need to tune your DME to remove it.

                      Info here:

On the old forum there was a thread on how to delete the PCV sucking jet pump on newer model S54s without a CEL. Anyone happen to have that info? I believe it required patching out a setting in the bin.

Do you know if this still applicable to a 2004, bc I see some posts mentioning 2005+?

Well depends on what model year your new DME software is. Not your car necessarily.

My car is 2004 and it came with this sucking jet pump. So it's not just 2005+

Hmm, I'll have to ask about that. When the guy repaired my dme, my bin was corrupted, so he had to flash a backup that he had, which could've been from an older model.

If you're getting this code it's likely a bin from a newer model year versus older.

Send your tuner the link above and it should be a 10 minute change to fix it.
