Looking good! Maybe an odd question but would it be more or less work to reuse the steel inner skin with the carbon outer skin? Given all the fine detail work on the inner skin.

And I’m guessing the destination of those doors isn’t Texas because of the lack of impact bars

      👀

These aren't the "final" door, just the inner and outer sitting together. 😎

We have finished all the internal elements of the doors, now we can begin the final assembly.

If there are three or more clients for these doors, then we can do it. Otherwise, it is not economically profitable.

Gotta say... I really have the wants for some coupe doors with crash bars 😝

Fully dressed (door cards, windows, speakers, etc)-- how much weight saving are they worth? As in, what's the weight difference between a steel door and a crash bar carbon door, all else equal?

It was a 25lb difference between a gutted steel door and my carbon door which had about the same amount of material missing. My carbon door was about 11lbs with hinges, aftermarket latch, and an eBay racing mirror. My door could have been lighter but didn't want to risk it. The steel door is a heavy SOB.

The great thing about carbon doors is no door dings!

                        25 per door? or total?

... either way, that's some serious weight savings

Weight of metal door with metal crash bars = 15.4kg (This is a completely empty door.)

25lb per door. My gutted door (no crash bar) was 35.5lbs. Yes, significant savings. The door skin metal seems to be quite thick. Maybe 14ga steel?

Definitely putting some of these on my E46 when I have time. A shop local to me uses and sells these doors and says the fitment is incredible.
