I think in the future i would love to do this conversion due to the ease of parts availability even though i love my ST60/40 Setup.

The F8X conversion? Really? Might as well get new discs from Girodisc and some new pads from Random suppliers and call it a day with the ST60/ST40. A fresh powder coat to go along with it as well.Originally posted by EthanolTurbo View Post
Don't bother, it's 20+ lbs heavier than stock.

I think you nailed it with boat anchor, those 380mm are 24.91 pounds by themselves, and stock 348mm ZCP/CSL is 17 pounds. A Brembo GT BBK using 355x32 rotors is 16 pounds with rotor hat.

The extra weight is a kill. You cam use the stock rotors with the f3x calipers if you mod the pad a bit to clear the hat.
however I think the best are either the Megan RS calipers or Aston’s DB9. The latter will have exact same clamping force. Megan’s will be a bit lower.
rear, stock, or if you fill like doing some mods, rear cayenne calipers, or e82 135 rears wilt with also e92 rotors.

My Volks RE30's are 17.2 lbs and 17.8 lbs.Originally posted by 9kracing View Post
So 5lbs per corner?
How much weight does a forged wheel save?
In comparison...
Also, as a frame of reference... 996 Brembos weigh about 20 lbs less than stock. So a 996 Brembo setup is roughly 40 lbs less than an F8X blue brake conversion.M67 Double Spoke Polished (OEM 19)

The legend’s back!Originally posted by Johnvu View PostYeah, they definitely weigh more but if that doesn't bother you then I say these are cost effective to swap and look fantastic. I ended up supercharging recently so the added weight is not apparent to me lol.'05 ///M3 Mysticblau Metallic / Grey Nappa 6MT

I ended up going for the VYS garage kit as well. No cutting or grinding of the F8X calipers at all. Minor bending on the front dust shield and rear one needed bit of cutting on the edges - not a total annihilation. Added a 10mm spacer on the front. Went with studs all around that helps heaps with installation and spacers.Originally posted by YYZ-M3 View PostI purchased the install kit from VYS Garage. Will update once I get started on the install.
With the VYS garage kit, the pads aligns perfectly on the correct portion of the discs. That's why it provides with eccentric bushings for the rear calipers.
Have been running the setup for the past month. I like it very much. Could not get to a situation of brake fade yet which I was able to with the OEM E46 M3 brakes without much effort.
