I'm sure the airbox played a big role too. I gained 25 whp with just an airbox and stock everything else: https://nam3forum.com/forums/forum/m...356#post126356

9% whp increase in my case with just the airbox. 11% increase for Gearhead55 , so about 2% whp gain from the headers (assuming that airbox and tune in isolation would have gained the same amount as mine did).

Mine was not. I saw that they were trying the frozen carbon but they hadn’t officially released it yet. I asked if they could make me one and they did. Even without the group buy price it ended up being around 2k shipped I think. Depends on the euro to usd conversion.

Right, hard to say where the power is coming from when changing multiple variables at the same time. I would expect to gain more than 2% from the headers after a tune though. Maybe the airbox made a bigger difference on yours than it did for mine. All I know is that the airbox is boxin' air and it sounds good and looks good and made more power so I’m happy.

I got it tuned at JMP. Jerick, who is the primary tuner there, believes that the limiting factor in my setup is the relatively restrictive section 3 (RE El Diablo). They’ve found that their cars make more top end when switching to a 3in single exit, e.g. bimmerworld race. But the cars get really loud with that set up.

It'll be so loud you won't hear the air box induction noise anymore lol

So what 2.5" sec. 3's currently exist besides SCZA and the Supersprint made to order 2.5" ?

Somewhat surprised to hear negative remarks about the RE mufflers as from what I understood that muffler had pretty good airflow due to the flow through design.

The engine must simply want a bigger diameter pipe all the way down the line with these types of modifications..

That's really good to see! I'm chatting with Hassan to work something out on tuning. I'll start with Alpha N and do MAP conversion afterwards to give some more data to owners.

                  Thanks for the pics.

Dinan is 2.5". Megan el supremo is 2.5" There are a couple of others. That said, for our cars that don't have every single bolt on, there's nothing wrong with rocking a 60mm (2.36") muffler like supersprint, eisenmann or the latest El Diablo

1st Gen El diablos were a measly 55mm, so that was restrictive, yes.

The full SS 2.5" with a 2.5" muffler is better than the single 3" esp for a street or dual duty.

Strength of the dollar vs. euro right now is making Karbonius / Haimus options look like a pretty good deal.

I'm about to place an order for the Karbonius Race airbox. It's $1950 and has the integrated snorkel.

Just word to the wise, do not think that you will hear the airbox over loud exhausts.

                          This is a folly.

100%! The CSL trunk GB participants are getting free candy with this lol - some silver lining to the EU situation I guess.

I feel like my Karb intake sounds a bit too quiet, even with stock exhaust. I don’t understand why the intake sounds much louder in real CSLs (in vids of course). Does the lack of sound deadening contribute to that?
