Currently a CSL muffler from ECS/Turner is $1100, a US M3 muffler is $2100 from them.

True, but used they're $0-100, and they're not a part that goes bad...

It is amazing how good an S85 sounds, one of my favorite exhaust notes I have heard in person.

I've had the SS Sport on for a few months now and get the hype. Great quality, fit and nice refined sound. Still miss the El Diablo for its pure rawness up top but not for normal driving.

Should have gone all SS originally as many have said but my budget build is exactly to my liking sound wise so not changing anything at this point.

Fabspeed headers (BF special few years ago ) to Fabspeed catted section 1 (lightly used and a steal from m3forum member), SGT resonated section 2 (think it was $400 on sale and received in 4 days which has to be a record, lol) out to the SS sport (recent group buy)

[whistle!!]... Foul on the play... can't compare a 6 to an 8 as far as exhaust sound... carry on.

See... a 6 can actually get with a 10 or a 12... just not an 8... when I drove a V10 M5 I was completely underwhelmed... but then again I drove to the dealer in an S55k.

Well, that is exactly the engine I had in mind when I said "one of" about S85. However, not really available to general public, while S85 can be had for under $15k.

S85 sounds amazing. I just installed a SCZA with SGT non-resonated mid pipe.

Thing about exhaust is that everyone has an opinion of what sounds good. Personally I quite like this set up right now.

It doesn't compare to my E60 M5 with RPI section 1-3 though.

I actually came in this thread to post that same youtube video you did. Still to this day that LSB car with headers and the El Diablo sec 3 is my favorite NA setup! For me though, the best sounding exhaust is a turbo s54!

What the fuck are sparta brakes hahaa.

V10 M5 sounds incredible, one of the best sounding cars of all time I don't know what you guys are on. My buddy has a straight piped with eisenmann race and it's louder than all hell but tremendous nonetheless.
