Got a eml light on. Then car went into limp mode, check the codes and got p0121 and p0221. I changed the tps sensor next to the oil filter. Drove the car about 5 mins, ran fine. Then slight hesitation around 2500 rpm. Eml light didnt come back on.. Will go for a 30 mins drive next. In case it comes back on, should I change the one under thr air intake or the gas pedal?

Check your throttle linkage, make sure it isn't touching anything.2003 Carbon Black - Karbonious CSL intake, CSL DME w/MAP, SSV1 headers/Catted Section1/63.5mm Section2, Shrick 280/272 cams, Lang Racing Stage 1 cylinder head, Eibach Pro Street S Coilovers (500#F/600#R), GC Sways, AutoSolutions SSK, Motorsport 3.91 rear diff, BBS RGR wheels, Streamline CSL front bumper

Just drove the car for 15 mins. Eml light on. Check engine light on. Limp mode.. Scan car got codes p0121-throttle position sensor/switch A circuit range/performance....p0223-throttle/pedal position sensor/switch B circuit high....p1637-throttle valve position control/ control deviation.. So I'm aiming for the gas pedal next.

Do you have factory throttle body boot clamps? Or are they worm gear clamps? If your throttle linkage is hitting ANYTHING, it will throw those codes. If you ever get stuck, turn the car off, unplug the front TPS sensor, then plug it back in, restart the car. That resets the EML/Limp mode. If the EML is coming on when you go full throttle, I would venture a guess it is the throttle linkage touching something...or your throttle actuator. I have spare TPS and actuator if you end up needing one, PM me.

You want to make sure these parts are unobstructed. They're visible from up top without removing anything on the engine.

Check if any of the throttle linkages are obstructed. Then change the TPS next to the oil filter housing first, then the gas pedal, and finally the TPS under the intake manifold. Had the same issue on mine and it was the TPS under the intake manifold.'06 BMW M3 6MT Coupe - TiAg/Imola

Now I have a new problem . idle surge, and the car stalls when coming to a stop. If the rpm is above 2k, and I put the car in neutral, rpm drops and stalls. I have to tap the gas a bit to prevent it from stalling. Only happens when coming to a stop. If the car is in neutral and I rev. Its fine, no stalling.Last edited by M3powerzz; 09-20-2020, 09:48 AM.

When you let off the gas, the IAC should open up to stop the stalling but it sounds like it isn't. TPS could've been a problem also but the stalling seems IAC related. Take a look at the PIDs to make sure. Seem what % it's at when you let off the throttle while coasting. This is my Unbuild Journal and why we need an oil thread
