Good catch. I'm getting my wheel redone is OEM M leather so I guess those two probably won't match. I guess the only option for a short, ZHP compatible OEM M leather boot is have one custom made?

I could be wrong, but looks like montana leather not the nappa found in the M3. In case that matters to you.Originally posted by Kipjames3 View Post
It fits the ZHP knob perfectly? No need for folding or tucking any extra leather?

Was a complete bonehead and stripped my MCS rebound adjuster, using it to tighten the shaft nut…. Yay 😔 of course I wanted a rebuild I didn't need

Been driving the E46 after the manual swap. Its wild not seeing the SMG. But the 6 speed is what this car absolutely needed. And such an easy 6 speed to putz around town in....compared to my GT3. The GT3 is like a fire breathing, straight piped, bastard on wheels.

The non-M E46 leather shift boot fits fine even though they're a 5 speed.Originally posted by Kipjames3 View Post
This is problem I was wondering about also. I'm probably doing a manual swap here soon and was looking to keep the leather shift boot but you're saying you can't get a leather shift boot that fits the ZHP knob? I don't mind the alcantara shift boot but I'm keeping my leather wheel so wasn't sure how the mix of alcantara and leather would look.

I only searched a little but I couldn't find a ZHP leather shift boot but I just thought I was missing it. I guess I'll just go the alcantara route then if that's the only choice.Originally posted by Grey Phox View Post
Nothing that I like at least. If you can get one it looks like some type of weird Vinyl leather, not like the Nappa Leather that's in there now. The regular plain aftermarket options that come already with the frame just don't look like the stock one. They look....cheaper. That's just my opinion. You can always get just the leather and reuse the frame, but with my luck it would probably look like shit after I attempted it. I hated arts and crafts as a kid.

Can't get a factory leather boot alone, didn't like the few leather options available, and I'm not really a fan of the Alcantara for shifter/e-brake boots. I'm gunna go back in and redo the leather at the top where it meets the shifter to get rid of a few of the wrinkles if I can, but overall I'm happy to get rid of the faded gooseneck shifter. Sorry for the horrible quality photos.
