Does anyone have the paint code for Style 67 18'? I'm guessing BAS Glasurit supplied the paint...

The barrels are ‘grey powder’, which I presume is just a grey primer.

it is a Glasurit Special paint code A55 Dekra Silver from Line 90

I believe A55 is used on the 359 M wheels (hence the dates of 2005 - ). The CSL wheel was made in 2003 and is finished in 88Z.

The 359M wheel finish doesn't hold a candle to the bbs 163m csl wheel, in case anyone is wondering.

Reached out to BBS and got a completely different paint code from y’all. Hmmm. I sent them A55 and they said that was BMW’s alias for DS-AP which is BBS’s internal code for paint 025/010902. This appears to be the same code the BBS CH has (Brilliant Silver). Idk - this doesn’t seem like accurate information.

Most likely because you emailed BBS USA as opposed to BBS Germany.

As per post 18 of this thread, the colour code is 88Z.

What is the best way to refinish CSL wheels? I’ve seen some with blurry part numbers around the BMW rounded. Assuming this is because they had new powder coat applied but the person didn’t sandblast them down to bare metal?

Sandblasting wheels is a bad idea, it doesn’t leave a nice surface, instead they should be chemically stripped of all previous paint.

Furthermore I ordered all the above paint codes from my paint supplier, and compared them against a set of brand new In box CSL wheels that I have, none of them are a good match.

I think the best is just to ask whoever you pick to refinish your wheels to provide some photos of the finish that they’ll be using, if you are satisfied with what you see, just go for it.

I think best thing is to take them to a paint place that can mix or identify the paint by scanning the wheels. We have shops here that sell paint and they have a device that they put on the car to match the paint perfectly. It scans it and gives them the right stats to mix the paint.

+1 ; most powder coating shops have a chemical stripping process where they dip the wheel and remove the finish. This is the way

What does 88Z mean? Are you saying that we should be able to go to a paint supplier and just tell them 88Z with no other context of codes and they will be able to pull it up?

88Z seems like such a short small number like its missing something
