DMC diffuser looks good in terms of fit and CF weave quality. I may give it a try (slightly cheaper than the HBIN vans euromotorsport ebay options as well).

This is Mparts' ebay store. On the DMC site, the diffusers look to be $100 more.

Update from my body shop on the HBN unpainted unit. Looks like they nailed the paint line. Getting ready for some proper Glasurit Imola red.

Another benefit is being able to test fit and modify and prep if needed prior to painting. Even the best CSL ones can be filed to fit even better.Originally posted by RoyalFlushness View PostAlthough more expensive, one benefit of painting it yourself is using high quality paint, ensuring a perfect match and getting the paint line better than some of the bad lines that come out of the Taiwan factory.

Hey RF - thank you for the update and posting these pics. That paint line is perfect, diffuser looks great. I provided these pics to my painter yesterday to use as a reference. They are going to print them out and hang it on their wall through the project!!Originally posted by RoyalFlushness View PostNew HBN Piece with fresh Glasurit Imola layed down. I just received a DMC diffuser and the quality is atrocious. The weave is not consistent whatsoever and the edges are not straight at all. Also doesn't have the metal tab design like HBN. I may try a Burkhart diffuser next.Originally posted by antknee View PostMpartsworldwide by me (the e46 dismantler), sells DMC ones (basically the same as the HBIN ones)....i can confirm they fit like all the other ones using the metal tab design, since my cousin has one on his E46. oh damn thats wack. They must've changed their supplier. Did you test fit it, or not even going to bother?Originally posted by Sid_E46 View Post

Not going to even bother, The weave will bug me to no end. I understand that these cheaper diffusers won't have perfectly consistent weave but the DMC one I received is a whole different level of bad.Originally posted by antknee View Post

Don't do it. Spray painting urethane is a PITA, 2k spray can clear is cheap - and you'll need to wet sand & polish this to get it looking anywhere good enough. Black color makes this even worse of an experience - all errors will show through.Originally posted by Rekpoint View PostJust ordered a HBIN 1x1 diffuser for $350 shipped directly.
My car is Jet Black and I heard that Universal black from Duplicolor is a perfect match.
Going to try my hand at spraying it myself w/ duplicolor + a 2k clear before I bring that and my OEM spoiler to a shop to redo them LOL.

I was already talked out of it by a friend. Will probably bring it in. More worried about the exhaust burning the 2k clear.Originally posted by Epoustouflant View Post

Oh good. I was also going to say don’t do it if you plan on it to match and look decent.Originally posted by Rekpoint View PostI was already talked out of it by a friend. Will probably bring it in. More worried about the exhaust burning the 2k clear.

Do you have a link to where you purchased the 1x1 HBIN diffuser? Can't find it on ebay anymore, or him.Originally posted by Rekpoint View PostJust ordered a HBIN 1x1 diffuser for $350 shipped directly.
