    Thanks guys I appreciate it.

It’s for spot needing PDR. Would you still pull out of car? A lot of work & would need to reinstall seat to drive to place to have done.

Pulling the headliner sucks, especially if you're just doing it for pdr. The seats are very, very easy though: two nuts, two bolts, and an electrical connector. I can have both of them in/out of the car in

Yeah absolutely worth the effort to just take the seats out, 30min job.

Car is looking fantastic btw. Two questions:

        - what did you use to insulate the roof? I've been looking into melamine foam to keep the weight at a minimum. Couldn't tell if that's what I was seeing there.

        - are the side mirrors staying black?
Roof insulation is OEM, Part #'s 51488229734 and 51488229733. I debated using the lightweight version of dynamat but the BMW parts were easiest. Also have it installed in my track car and has worked great.

Yep mirrors are staying black. Also have a set of CF mirrors I'll try down the road.

The gloss trim matching the roof's gloss black trim (a la csl) is ace.

With winter starting to set in here in NYC I decided it was time to give this one big push and get it mostly together for a public debut at Cars and Coffee last Sunday Motoring Cafe in Madison NJ. I already had Friday off and the wife was out of town so I was all in for a marathon session to get this thing (mostly) done! First was to finish up the interior. Gave the carpet a good vacuum and scrub and the dash a final detail. Then the back seats, belts and trim went back in for the first time in 12 months! Of course was missing some parts and had to make a run to my storage area to scrounge some parts off of the old seats.

Back to the front seats. I had previously installed the mounts and wired sliders on the passenger seat, so the drivers seat went much faster. Unfortunately while I was test fitting the seats I scratched the new carbon fiber door handle trim on the passenger side 😢. Going to have to go back on sand/polish that out. I stripped out all off the unused wiring and got it down to the four wires needed for the forward/back button:

              Ready to go back in!

Had to pull the cup holders and coin holder from the track car while Im waiting for the Induktiv wireless charging insert. Also need to source a new rear storage cubby. I couldn't find the new parking brake boot and handle Im positive I ordered 🤣 so that is bare for now. Front seats and new "shorty" center console installed:

Finishing touch was the new custom steering wheel. Similar to my track car went with Ledermanz on ebay with full Alcantara and a flat bottom like the E92 M3 comp wheel. Also added new Turner black paddle shifters:

In the rush to get this all back together I didn't get many good pics. Better ones coming! At this point the interior is back together except for the trunk trim. Also need to sort our some wiring issues with the head unit.

Big debut!! Got up super early on Sunday to take care of a couple exterior items. Popped the new gloss black grills/gills and badges on and give the car a quick detail. Paint is still basically bare but the plan is to give it a final polish and ceramic coat in the next week. Plus some clear bra on the bumper and headlights. Then drove over to NJ! Some pics from the C&C:

3 Gens 1 Pic! Also super nice Nardo Grey E46M.

                Good comparison to Imola Red:

I've said this before, but your builds are just insane. Amazing execution and the end result speaks of the quality of work you put in man, own it well and enjoy. Fuking inspiring this is, ffs roso corsa on diamond silver TEs, you made it family.

Maybe I missed in in your thread, but any information on the fog lights you used? Looks like Morimoto units. Any comments on fitment? Thank you

Thanks! Its all been worth it, getting it out for a drive after a year was awesome! It snowed in NYC the next day and its in the 20s... Hopefully we'll get some decent weather soon.

Yep they are Morimoto "XB LED". They are a perfect fit and look really good. Got a couple comments in them at the C&C. That said, they don't seem to put out very much light. Form over function I guess 😆.

With the car back in the garage after its first big outing my top priority is paint protection. Its had plenty of time to gas out and I really don't want to drive again until its protected. I've decided to clear bra the front bumper and headlights with Xpel and then coat it with AMMO Reflex Pro Enamel Coat. First I gave the car a wash with the AMMO Lift Hoesless wash. This stuff is great for a quick clean in the garage. Then took the grills/gills/badges back off and masked some of the rubber trim.

Then I wiped down all of the paint with diluted isopropyl alcohol to get it completely clean. The paint is just about perfect from the body shop but there are some swirls and sanding marks I want to tackle. So I gave it a full compound and polish. That took way longer than I expected but worth it. Paint lookin awesome!

I've got the week off next so I'm planning on getting the bra and coating done as well as some finishing touches to the interior. If the weather improves and schedules line up I'm also hoping to get it over to RK Tunes for a final dyno tune.
