    Thanks for the advice. I’ll report back when I dig in and fix this after I get back from some work travel.

      I would also double check the harness you bought from AMS. The one I received from them had two pins mixed up that I didn't notice until my brake lights were always on while driving. This did not cause a no-start issue, but I'd still double check the wiring.

        Finally got back to this. Traced the wiring and all appears to be as it should be physically. I verified continuity of the harness as well. At the clutch switch connector:
        1. GND
        2. DME (12V clutch pedal up -> 0V clutch pressed)
        3. +12V
        4. EWS pin 8 (0V up -> 0V pressed)

        This thread was a big help: https://nam3forum.com/forums/forum/m...h-help-code-50

        Seems as if no meaningful signal is getting to the EWS. Bad switch warranting a call to Bimmerworld?

          Are you using a black clutch switch, a brown clutch switch or a green clutch switch

          If it's a black clutch switch, what is the part number on it? Does it end in 700?

          If it's a green clutch switch, then you'll need to disable clutch switch in the ews module because the green clutch switch doesn't support ews interlock which is why you wouldn't be getting a signal

          If it's a brown clutch switch, I'm not sure then....

            It’s a supposedly “new” black clutch switch with P/N 61-31.9122700.9 etched on it.

            What is the correct behavior at Pin 4? Does the switch pull a 12V signal to ground from the EWS when the clutch is disengaged? Or does it send 12V to the EWS when the clutch is disengaged?
