You just need to make sure they return your DME to you with something on it. The HW conversion involves physically replacing the ROM with new blank chips, which means that the DME will need to be bench flashed before it can communicate with the typical flashing tools.

EWS has two safety's:- Key to EWS which blocks the engine from cranking
- DME to EWS which blocks the engine from starting (while cranking).
You would still have the steering wheel locked so they'd have to break that too, but the likely hood of someone going to all of those lengths to steal your car is likely low and if they are going to do all of that then they likely would be equally as committed to just flat bed it away.'09 HP2S, '12 R12GSA, '00 Black 323iT, '02 Alpine 325iT (Track Wagon), '02 Alpine 330iT

EWS can be finicky to sync on CSL FW using INPA. I don't even try anymore, I just fire up DIS and do it with that.
