Found a project. I have some extra material laying around. Gonna make these front splitter mount plates in CF. The plan is to weld the top coupler nut to a small steel tab and then bond and rivet steel tab to the CF plate.

Modifying/building my 6+ year HPDE car for GTS3....modifying cage, thinning wire harness, shaving weight, adding all the other safety requirements, etc.

Hoping to be competitive aside from the top few guys who have so much into their cars.

Most of the significant off track stuff I've seen here in the last ten years is due to fluid spills.
Trying to remember the year (maybe '97ish) but once saw Michael Andretti flip upside down thru the esses there in a cart race. Never had the balls to try an event there when i was tracking a C5 hardtop back in the day.

For the “track car,” I just want to install a set of Cobra Nogaros before I take it to the track again. Driving on the track with stock seats is no fun.

HPDE Cup events are limited with little kids. Not letting that stop my spending. Let's see if I finish these by spring:

            - M24 interior door panels, parcel shelf
            - CAE shifter
            - Poly rear windscreen and vented qtrs
            - Fog light and washer delete
            - Fluids, filters and misc bushings

@mannschaftschnell on IG for pics, if I ever get it done

              CAE Shifter Install

              Replace Wheel Bearings

Install ZHP rack that’s been sitting around…Hope the seals aren’t f**ked and there isn’t too much play.

Buying a new DME so the car can be properly tuned (ugh…problems with my EEPROMS)

One of the bolts from my camber plates through the front left shock tower has been rubbing against the shock tower bolt opening and the hole has been elongated/out of round. I have no idea how this happened as I mark my torqued shock tower bolts, but it certainly happened, no idea how, I’m thinking my strut brace is partially or fully to blame. I discovered it after doing a post season inspection. Who knows, but it’s freaking me out and pissing me off simultaneously. Don’t really know how to get that fixed and am scared to take it to someone. Have to rip the bandaid on that in the off-season. I guess a body shop is the best place. I can’t weld. F**K! F********K! If anyone has any ideas…

              Novec Fire Suppression.

              Mount new smartycam.

Unnecessarily giant wing. Haven’t decided yet.

              Splitter. Still haven’t decided.

              Canards

              Buy a trailer….

Ditch headlights when the trailer arrives to save some weight up front. Rain light in the back.

Pray for my head gasket nightly.

I have the SIR wheel bearing tool you can borrow if needed.

ZHP rack - I got a rebuild kit on eBay, I'm willing to bet a ZHP rack would use the same seals. I think it was $60.

Could I trouble you to link me to the recommended wheel bearing tool / kit? I have a bunch of generic kits and feel like every time I am piecing together different components to get something that works fast and efficient.

                  Thanks

BMW does make front and rear wheel bearing tools. Otoh, they are not as universal as the B90.
                      front: 83300491905
                      rear: 83300492287
(I have the BMW tools, they made install a breeze. At the time, the B90 kits were out of stock everywhere.)

I would also strongly recommend you get the Bav Auto half-shaft tools as well (my experience with half shafts here)

Besides the usual fluid replacements and lift inspections weeks before season starts:

I'll wait for an odd warm spell and rebuild calipers. Measure rotor thickness while there. Then check seat/mount bolts. Almost forgot: also get my HANS re-certified.

Did you guys all get your CAE shifters recently? I haven't been able to get a hold of anyone, but maybe their Porsche inventory is a different story.

Not me, ordered end of 2021 direct from them, came pretty quickly, sitting on shelf since...

Finished the carbon front splitter mounts. I’ll do the jump up and down on the splitter test when I get the rest of the car back together. Saved almost 2 lbs!

                                E36 M3

Added hood pins and patched a pair of tears on my faux carbon fiber hood. Noticed how much it was flexing driving home from my last event, and got nervous.

Trying to sort brake ducting with my splitter (using the hard backing plates). The mounts block the typical bumper holes. I had some 3d printed ducts zip ties to my lca, but one ended life at about 100mph. I have an idea, but don't think parts will arrive in time for my next event this weekend.
