    S54 Fuel Injectors

Anybody know where to pick up a new set of OEM Bosch injectors that aren't $400 each?

    #2
I’ve been looming too but thankfully don’t NEED them.

I’m guessing these things don’t cost a lot to make. So, IMO, current pricing warrants lawsuits re: collusion/gouging.

The Bosch part number is 62690. A quick google for "bosch 62690" returns lots of hits. I've had a hard time finding anything "in stock" though. The best I could find was summit which has an estimated ship date of March 13th.

Free Shipping - Bosch Fuel Injectors with qualifying orders of $109. Shop Fuel Injectors at Summit Racing.

Worst comes to worst, you can buy a used set off Facebook or eBay or whatever and get them rebuilt. Lots of places will rebuild a set such as injectorplanet for $13 an injector.

Unlock Horsepower by replacing your clogged dirty injectors with our professionally 100% rebuilt Flow matched fuel injectors, your engine will run smooth and balanced for maximum performance

Looks like Summit is the one. I've placed my order now lets see if they can actually fill it. Thanks for the link. Not sure why I missed them in all my searches but thanks again.
btw, I've done the rebuilt injectors in the past and have never been happy. Besides these are original so I feel like after 200,000kms+ I owe the car a new set anyways.

Wow great find. Is there a general rule of thumb for replacing these, or determining if they are "good"?

Is there a recommended place to have the injectors tested and rebuilt?

On the old forum, there was a go-to place to have them rebuilt and a forum member had one stuck open after the service. Engine builders typically say to replace them to avoid an issue, but that seems excessive if the injectors can reliably be rebuilt and tested.

Yeah. I’m in the middle of an engine rebuild. I had them rebuilt at first. After much deliberation I decided to buy them new. I decided it wasn’t worth the risk for $400. Le sigh.

so, I’ll never know if my rebuilder did a perfect job. Fwiw, my originals have 211k miles on them and tested nearly spot on. Less than 10% deviation across the board iirc.

                  Cleaning is not worth it.

Stock Injectors are on the edge of maxing out if you making close to 340+ WHP

I personally use the VW/Audi Bosch - 62431 Injectors. They Flow more the stock, plus they are cheaper.

You will have to get your tuner to adjust the ecu global flow rate.

There seem to be some instances where the stock oem injectors run out of duty cycle with a full bolt on setup and cams, is this what you've seen also. There seem to be many cars that do just find with stock rebuilt/new injectors with power levels over 350whp...

These are the higher flow injectors I've seen recommended by other members here (I think it was EthanolTurbo?): https://polmaxracing.com/index.php/p...-m3-01-02-z3m/

As with any mods, will probably need to mess with stuff a bit, but for the most part, they should be plug and play.

You're welcome. Hopefully, they'll fulfill the order on schedule.

                            These one.

Cleaning injectors does not address internal electrical wear and tear. I personally like to replace them rather than cleaning them.

These are the ones I'm running.

                              This!

I saw a great video recently explaining why cleaning your injectors can actually cause more issues but for the life of me I can't find it. I'll post it here if/when I do.
