It would be interesting to see if changing out the radiator with new OE has any effect. Let us know if you do

        Sure, but I do!
Oil temp I'm fine with going up, I mean, that is why we pour 10W60 in these. Water temp is what had me worried.

When I first got my car at 130k miles the coolant temps always stayed pinned at center. I started noticing this behavior while coasting after my water pump went and associated parts were replaced, and thought something was wrong. You learn something new every day!

Either one, but ECS has OEM on sale for the same price ~ as Nissen. I'd go with OEM.

No not Nissen. Modine only. Not that Nissen isn't quality brand, but Modine is original equip.

You'll want a new rad at that mileage/age anyway.

My car would go a little over 210 on 95+ days...

              ...until I bought a new oil cooler/lines

Thanks. Are there oem hoses or go Bmw as well?

Rein hoses are fine, but their o rings seem to not be great.

Get the rein hoses and swap out the o rings for the ones WOLFN8TR sells if you want better quality seals and cheaper hoses.

I assume you used OE parts thus far? Including actual BMW branded water pump?

If so... time to do the rad.

The pump is Saleri. It was best that was available at the time I did this, as my original failed, so had no choice. As far as I know they are fine pumps, but I'm open to replacing that if you think otherwise?

Ok, an update. Took my kiddo to school this morning - ambient temp 83F, warmed up the car to operating oil temp of ~210F and got on it. Pushed hard for about 5 minutes, couple of redline pulls from the lights, and generally driving in high rev range all the time. Water temp dead center, oil up to 220F. Appears to be working just fine. Puzzled.

I will pick him up from school at around 1:30pm today, when temps expected to be around 100F, so will post another update then.

That's how it goes. A 100k stock m3 cooling system will work just fine... until it's hot or on track.

The Saleri might be the OE brand for BMW, I'm not sure. Is it a composite propeller? It'll prob be fine. If bought from FCP, you could return it, add a little cash, and get an OE BMW.

K - Conti was the OE for hoses/bbelts, now "CRP" aka Rein liek Heinz said. They're good enough, but oring upgrade is suggested. The o-rings, unused, were flatter than my old genuine ones lol
