The first chart is just the average for all coupes highlighted in red. The second graph restricts to only interlagos and the penalty is indeed very large but could be mileage differences between manuals that have sold vs SMG that sold.

Analyzing all BaT auctions since 1/1/21, the delta between SMG and 6MT coupes is much greater than 25%, especially on lower mileage cars - it's 66% for cars <25k miles. Note the 6MT data includes SMG conversions.

Surprisingly, the delta between IB and SG ZCP with 6MT cars in the last 20 months isn't too different and both have a reasonable sample size as a whole. Note several important variables aren't included like maintenance documentation, mods, slicktop, etc. but still provides a good comparison between the two colors:

I'll qualify all things BaT as I always do - all it takes is 2 people in the same room at the right time (sometimes with more money than sense) to really skew the numbers.

The delta between SMG vs 6MT changes significantly when you look at more recent auctions (1/1/21 to current for example). I believe the data you're including spans back to include auctions in 2015 which is less relevant when trying to draw conclusions in today's market, IMO.

lol that is a huge minus that you are going to throw out of the equation. I think we would all agree the two things that command a premium are a hard top and a 6 MT. A 6spd ZCP Silver grey is a better comparison.

I think you're right to keep an eye on those premiums over time, because while I'm not as spreadsheet motivated to do the work, to me it seems that recently those premiums are dwindling even the slightest bit. It's almost as if the sentiment is shifting towards "get a good one in any configuration while you can, especially certain color combos, because you can correct for transmission and if you're not tracking the car who cares about the rest"...

I also agree that Wolfe's car will only be more valuable as time passes. "Occasionally driven, garage kept and well maintained" is always an attractive value proposition for these types of cars.

This was my previous car. I have commented on the auction because my email was in the previous listing. I received four separate emails asking about the modification history on the car prior to me commenting. Two of them said they wouldn't be bidding as a result of the information provided and a third said it will reduce their max bid moving forward. Anyway, take the info for what it's worth.

Were they concerned about the confusion around supercharging? All those mods seem high quality and reversible to me. But they spoke to you and decided to Duck-Duck-NO. (sorry couldn't resist)

Did you put the BBS wheels on your IB ZCP? Can't imagine how good that looks.

If I would go back to stock, I wonder if I should go all the way? i.e., stock cams, etc.

Oh yes, the mods were of highest quality and easily reversible...which is why I pulled the trigger in the first place...not to mention that they were all on an 8K mile car. The he had all OEM parts made it very appealing to me. Unfortunately, the project did not continue as additional parts that I thought I would get (OEM CSL Roof and OEM CSL Airbox) were no longer available at the time. And nope, didn't keep the E88's. Sorry, but they're one of my least favorite looking wheels. Haha!! They sold to a guy with an LSB car up in Washington.

The individuals that reached out wanted clarification on the full extent of modifications per my comment on the previous auction, not on the supercharger specifically.

I have my personal opinion, but I certainly don't want to start up 3 more pages of speculation. I simply wanted to bring to light that people have reached out to me specifically regarding modifications. Based on their responses a couple were deterred, one said he'd reduce his max bid, and the other I didn't hear back from so I'm not sure how it will ultimately impact the auction, if at all.

HA!!! Not fightin' words....just 100% personal preference. I'd take LM's all day every day on the E46. I did not like the convex look of the E88's at all. That's just me.

I wouldn’t buy a supercharged car either. But bolt ons don’t bother me one bit as long as they aren’t cheap mods
