And still went for 45k. Maybe because the mileage is so low it's not a concern and whoever buys it won't need to do them for a long time if ever? Still...

Yeah I was surprised by that number.

His comment about the way BaT writes the "power is delivered to the rear wheels.." was spot on though lol

On the topic of service statements vs. service records. I predict this Imola M5 will go for less than its worth due to lack of service records, ancient tires and a non-enthusiast seller: https://carsandbids.com/auctions/3vbyz8O3/2003-bmw-m5

FYI if you know anyone in market. Hope it's OK to mention the "other" auction site in this thread. <smile>

Nothing else screams well maintained BMW like a stack of receipts from jiffy lube, pep boys tires, local smog station, Bmw recalls and a random mechanic shop where your flat tire was repaired.

I care about who is selling the car to me. Some of the most well Maintained cars come with next to no service records. All the parts were purchased and installed by the owner with love and passion and put together better than a shop trying to make a dollar.

I've applied to be a BaT Auction writer a few times to make some extra dough. Seemed like an easy way to make some side money with little to no effort. The entire hiring process was through the written word such as "why would you be a good fit for this role" -type essays. The final test in the process was to draft up an auction listing using what the customer provides to the questionnaires sent to them for submission. I spent half of the time analyzing 10 random auctions that were live on the sit to get the format and organization correct, and the other half writing the damn thing. At the end I submitted what, I thought anyway, could be mistaken for an ad on the site without an editing. I guess I didn't nail the "passive-voiced plausible deniability" because I didn't get hired.

The quote from Aaron Robinson saying, "Their ads are mealy-mouthed Mad Libs designed to avoid actually stating anything categorical other than ‘This is a car. It is old. It is said to be composed of car parts manufactured by a manufacturer,'” is spot on.

That guy sounds like a whiney dipshit tbh. BAT pays their writers a massive fee of $100 per listing. So if you think they give a flying fuck about you, or the details of your car, you’ve got another thing coming.

$41.5K for a 03 Imola. Think seller left thousands on the table due to presentation. Even accounting for need of tires, tuneup, fluids and PDR think buyer got good deal: https://carsandbids.com/auctions/3vbyz8O3/2003-bmw-m5

Wow what a steal. Another thing is that it wasn’t listed on bat.
