    S54 Dyno Database

Ehhh, I haven't seen one started yet?, and I'm not the guy that's gonna do it...but we need another dyno thread!

EDIT: Is everyone ok w/this being the official dyno thread moving forward?

Ok, well, I guess that this will serve as the new Official Dyno Database-by default. All graphs are welcome, but plz try to include as much info. about your vehicle/mods as possible...so that others can use the info (as kind of a template) for their build(s). Also, when possible, plz try to include your pre-mod/pre-tune 'base' numbers to give folks an idea of the before and after results (delta). Please remember to try and not make comparisons from one type of dyno to the next, as they can vary up to 15% sometimes...hell, even the same dyno can vary a little from day to day based on temperature, strap tension, etc. There are a few different types/manufacturers of dyno's in use and not all are created equal. The 3 basic types of dyno's are: inertia (Dynojet), water-brake (or hydraulic dyno's), and electric or eddy current dyno's (Mustang). If dyno'ing on a Dynojet, plz try to get the operator to display the graph in SAE numbers. A lot of folks use STD. (which is fine), but STD. uses a correction factor of 60* vs. a correction factor of 77* for SAE. Granted, it's only about a 2.5% difference, but for the sake of the forum...it would be nice if we can just keep things as consistent as possible for everyone! Alright, let's get those graphs posted!

Stash1, I recently saw this video of your M3 on Kassel's youtube channel and I was a bit surprised that it was making similar power to another M3 with headers and a stock airbox. Didn't you have a built motor with head work, cams, airbox, headers, etc.?

Well, I guess this thread could be the kick-off thread, we would just need to re-name it as 'The Official E46 Dyno Thread'.

Yep, I had been struggling recently w/the car not feeling quite 100% and was having trans issues as well, so I took it up to see my buddy Matt Coyne @ Coyne Performance/Kassel to try and R&R the trans, and we threw it on the dyno while I was there to confirm my suspicions. Also, keep in mind that Kassel's dyno is a Mustang which reads a little lower in the first place, and when combined w/my sickly engine...well, the results were as expected. Working on getting it back to healthy now...and will update this thread or other dyno thread in the future!

EDIT: Also wasn't aware that this video existed until a friend linked me to it-lol.

Hopefully you are able to get it sorted out. It looks like a nice build. Is it still running a TTFS tune?

Edit - Nevermind, I rewatched the video and it is still running a TTFS tune.

Nice to see the forum back up and running Here's one I was impressed with at dyno the other day.

Stock Euro spec engine, stock intake with Eventuri and full Miltek exhaust system with decats. Normally the most i'd see from that setup would be 340HP with tuning. Definitely an out of the ordinary strong engine. Started out at 330hp on stock euro map, so 28HP gain from tuning.
