    What happened to injector prices?

    Has anyone else noticed the extreme price hike on injectors?

    I have had a misfire I’ve been trying to diagnose, and troubleshooting has pointed me towards it possibly being an injector on its way out. I went to look them up on FCP and they are now ~360 each for BMW injectors, and the bosche injectors now seem to be NLA.

    I Replaced an injector back in 2021 and they were only 41$ for the Bosche part. Seems kind of crazy that for a full set of injectors were now looking at > 2100$.

    Anyone know of some injectors from another platform that may work? There are some deatschwerk 440’s that should work, and are ‘only’ 460$ for a set of 6, but those require tuning to be used.

    Is this what we’re doing now? Hopefully we can brainstorm a better alternative.

        Seems a pretty close match in specs which should be handled by fuel trims.

            I noticed his myself recently, I went to go change out the injectors on my X5 and prices have also skyrocketed... I'm looking at $3700 for 8 injectors.

            Unfortunately I don't think there's a cheap alternative like there is for the S54.

              Yeah it's become f'ing ridiculous. I don't know what F BMW is thinking and no one is also not rebuilding these index whatever injectors…

                I believe Stryker Performance rebuilds them.

                    Those all seem to be used on some lower end VWs, though probably not US models since I'm not seeing them carried at the usual sources.

                    The ones below flow more, but may be reasonable options with a minor tune adjustment

                    I don't know enough about injectors to say for sure whether we can deviate on spray angles and how much room we have to mess with the length.

                      I dont but those are the same injectors as N54 and those guys are using them. Haven't heard anything.

                          Cleaning/rebuilding is not hard (even DIYable, although a bit more expensive to flow test) and parts to do so are fairly cheap. Unless the electrical portion is open circuit or something they're usually rebuildable.

                          Already rebuilt sets seem to be available from around $200-250 USD in quite a few places

                          Why the need to buy new? Sure it's nice to have the option but it doesn't seem like it's a completely unobtainable part (yet).

                            What happened to that guy who charged like $60 to rebuild and flow test? I'd gladly pay him $100 to do it. He was quick and those injectors are still working fine 7 years later.

                            But who is everyone using for rebuilds nowadays?

                              If you're referring to a person with screen name "Mepeh" it seems he dropped off the face of the earth. I texted, called his cell, and also emailed in 2019 but no reply.
