Had a weld repaired on the supersprint street. The bracket's weld was broken and it caused an exhaust leak.

Daily (Mégane RS 1.8T 300hp) and M3 parked together for the first time

Just ordered 7in long springs for the front. 6in is just too slammed and the wheels rub inside the fenders on big compressions on the road, which is a noise and odor I despise

I also ordered a new center console and the elements that go with it at the soft touch deteriorated over the years and it is now sticky.

Other than that the car drives wonderfully. Really happy with it and it feels so good to be back at the wheel of an e46.

Will post pictures when the different elements arrive.

200 miles after putting the car back on the road the alternator bit the dust.
Original Valeo unit from 2004, made week 50 2003.

Bought a new Valeo, not a remanufactured one.
If it gets the same lifetime I'm OK with it

How did the old alternator fail? You can usually get a new voltage regulator or bearings, so good to keep it as a backup if it can be repaired.

The alternator had some sort of rattle for some time, so I guess the bearing was on its way out.
Then, the dreaded red battery light on the dashboard. I honestly didn't look further as I was thinking of replacing it anyways, and it just gave me the good excuse to do so.
I might keep the old one, rebuild it with a new bearing and voltage regulator, clean the inside, and put it to the side, we'll see
                  Thanks for the hint !

Did some progress on the car

New fuel cap securing cord or however that thing is called. Old one failed.

New mud guards for the rear as the original ones were one their way out

New alternator. Original one made in France, latest one made in Poland. I hope it'll last 20 years like the original one.

Longer springs. Car sits higher but it doesn't rub anymore. I should have gone for a higher rate spring though but I have no idea on how it would pair with the damper. I'm happy for now but I miss the KW V2s I had. They were fantastic for my usage.

would you happen to have the part number for the mud guards?

I'll do a first wash in 8 years picture of the dust on the car haha

Vincebar installed simply by riveting it
I believe that'll be plenty solid enough with the reinforcements below the car + I want to inject the Teroson structural foam into the chassis later in september.
With those 3 things I should be golden.

He must have upgraded the design, my vincebar looks very different. I also did the rivet style

I'll look into longer springs but not now. I need to close the project for now and drive the car a bit.

                              Just replaced the gearbox oil.
I'm only missing the coolant and all the fluids will have been replaced. I didn't have the courage for that tonight as it is quite messy to do.

They started making this stuff again? I've been hoarding a few gallons in my garage since obioban posted that eBay link years ago. I'll do a trans fluid swap cheers to that

No idea. I bought it on a website that had a good price.
Now you have me worried that I bought a counterfeit oil haha
