What is the consensus on the OE/OEM water pump? I’m concerned mainly about the impeller being metal, but of course the bearings as well.
I am ready to replace the water pump as a preventative measure. Would love to save the money if possible, but don’t want to install a lesser capable pump - if that’s the case.

Just buy the genuine one. You can't get the OE part directly from the manufacturer.
I know this is only one data point, but I had a metal impeller one on my car (Geba I think) and it started leaking coolant through the bearing/shaft after only about 15k mi. Replaced it with the genuine BMW part and all has been good.
Anyone have any experience with the high pressure power steering hose?
FCP says Rein is OE, so I ordered that when I did a power steering refresh about a year ago. However, hose started weeping pretty bad after a recent track day. Comparing pictures, the BMW part looks different to the Rein part (crimp fittings are silver vs black), but that might just be outdated pictures.
I'll probably just order the genuine part this time, but wanted to see if anyone had compared them side by side.
OE was Continental, probably before being bought by CRP (Rein)?
A bought a new Rein, but was dismayed by the speed at which they'd start leaking again, per reviews on m3f, so I installed a low mileage factory one instead.
Good to know I'm not the only one that had issues with the Rein part. Genuine part ordered, will update this thread with differences (if any) once I have both of them in hand.
I couldn't get the E36 hoses to be reliable in my track car, so I just gave up and went full braided lines + AN fittings with an inline cooler and oversized reservoir.
Crap. I just ordered the Rein one. My current high pressure hose (Genuine) has about 45k miles and is fine, but with everything torn apart, it's a "might as well" part. Maybe I return it and go OE?
I have a lot of might as well parts being thrown at this car. My current dilemma/decisions are the starter (it's fine but...), the aux cooling fan (they are $$$) and aux water pump.

I’ve heard people complain that custom lines with AN fitting cause steering whine. Are you experiencing that?
