They messed me over with some shocks and till now my car clunks every time i turn the steering or moans. Zero replies from them and months have gone by and i have tried insta and email etc. Never again. Sticking to companies I hold dealerships with so that its easier to communicate with hteir customer service.

Good question OP, I want to know the same. I currently have BC's, and while not horrible for spirited driving, they aren't the greatest on the street. I think my next move are Ohlins or custom MCS.

I have to admit that I like the look of my car lowered like it is on BC's and understand I will have to raise it up to have the suspension work properly and feel any real difference in ride quality from the BC's.

        Questions:

        - What setup is best between these two when taking into consideration I do want the esthetics of a lower vehicle?

        - Are the camber plates that come with TCK's quality or should I be looking elsewhere for those?

Photos for reference, you can see how low it sits, particularly in the rear.

Great looking car. It does sit nicely.

I have TCK DA's with Vorshlag plates. I really wanted the Vorshlag plates, so I bought just the dampers and springs from TCK. I already had Rogue's articulating adjustable rear spring perches as well as their upper rear shock mounts.

The service was great. They even provided a setup sheet to get me in the ballpark.

I went with 400/500 springs and stock sways, so there is some body roll, but the car is reasonably compliant and it has a ton of grip. I have no complaints at all.

I have no experience with Ohlins.

What made you go with the Vorshlag plates over TCK plates? Just better quality potentially?

I may have to go that route, as much I want to buy an all in one package deal its worth getting it "right" and not buying things that may be lesser quality just to not have to go to multiple sources.

My car is 90% street driven so having it lowered similar to how it is now (I need to measure height) is of importance to me even if that does sacrifice some ride quality.

I feel like even TCK's or Ohlins at their lowest positions would have to be an improvement over what I have.

Currently with my BC's and Nogaro seats it seems like my tires and bumpstops are 75% of the suspension, its quite harsh to say the least.

Also, is the main difference between SA and DA just one has rebound and the other had both rebound and compression?

My original preference was the Turner hybrid plates, but spring seats are very expensive, and damper shaft sleeves would have required custom parts. I was also concerned that rebuild parts may not be available in the future. You know, ECS.....

Its very hard to find any criticism of the Vorshlag plates, and they will make them with whatever spring seat and damper shaft sleeve you need. The ball in these things is huge - the whole assembly is just built like a tank. I also installed the OE strut tower reinforcements at the same time. It seemed prudent considering the strut towers can be deformed, and the camber plates are a good bit smaller than the stock upper hats. The TCK plates may be just fine, but I wanted something I could be pretty confident was bulletproof. So yes, just better quality potentially.

Getting the ride height you want should not be an issue, but as I am sure you know, go too low and handling will be compromised.

I do get wanting to buy it all from a single source, but I will point out that the Rogue articulating rear spring perches make rear ride height adjustments super easy - just crawl under with a ratchet and adjust. No way I would go back to standard adjustable perches.

Yes, SA is rebound only and DA is both bump and rebound. TCK also says the DA pieces are "significantly more robust."

One more thing about TCK - call before ordering and find out if what you want is actually in stock. Their website is a bit vintage, so it does not always make it clear whether parts are in stock or not. You should also ask him for the E46 suspension setup guide.

Not to derail, but how long have you had the Rogue perches? Do they creak at all? Do they go fairly low? I looked into them, and I find them interesting enough to possibly put them on my car.

I am thinking of getting those as well, thinking tomorrow I'll call TCK, order just the dampers/springs (400F/500R), Vorshlag plates, R.E perches/RSM's, stock links, etc. hardware. $$$

I installed them three years ago. I have put 8,000 miles on them. So far no noise or problems. My rear ride height has never been lower than 13" from the center of the wheel to the highest point of the fender opening lip. They will certainly go lower, but I could not say how much.

You will need to know the damper shaft size when you order the Vorshlags. Pretty sure the TCK DA's were 14mm and tapered, but you will want to confirm.

For the front sway you will definitely need adjustable end links. I used the stock end links in the rear and shimmed them to remove preload.

Is anyone running e36 m3 oem strut mounts on tc kline SA coilovers? I've read it works, but can anyone confirm? I think it was mentioned if you don't need camber plates for a mostly street driven car, e36 mounts are compatible.

I see bimmerworld has one for a stock height and MCS coilovers that is 247-273mm.

I used Turner # TMS339009. Used them with both TCK DA's and the Eibachs I had on the car previously. They should work with the SA's.

Do you happen to know which out of this list you got? There are two for the E46 listed. I would assume it would be for the non AWD models.
