I've done a couple sets of 10s crank, 20s let starter cool x3. Plugs are out. Might have to make sure the o-ring on the filter housing bolt is intact. It's new, I've had one not perform before.

Yeah, that would be an easy check.

Was the o-ring for the oil pump pickup tube replaced? Hopefully, it's not that as there is one example of that being bad - https://nam3forum.com/forums/forum/m...r-rod-bearings

That’s rough, I ordered mine a few days and got it. Hope your oiling issue is resolved, but I was down there as well doing rod bearings. #4 was not having a good time but all the others were actually in good shape.

Replaced clutch slave with new FTE, still had intermittent gear engagement issues. After bleeding a month or so ago, shifting improved, but not 100%. Spent roughly 30 min bleeding the new one.
          1. Squeeze the piston, open bleed screw, close it, release. Did this 5-6 times
          2. pump the clutch 5 times or so slowly, put a 2x4 between seat and clutch. Open up slave bleeder. Repeat 5-6 times.

Hope this does it. Clutch job and SSK are next.

As expected from your talent - the car looks sick. Well done. Mind sharing what kinda paint you used? Spray? Brush?

            Thanks.

Yeah I came across that thread the night of. I don't remember the pickup tube feeling like throwing a hot dog down a hallway, but I don't have that o-ring in any of my recent orders. I also know I don't have that size in my o-ring kits so…🤦‍♂️

Car will be up in the air for a couple more weeks.

I've posted couple of pictures earlier, I've used an airbrush and Tamiya model paint ((just make sure its actually solvent based), and some Dupli Color flat clear coat.

Nothing much compared to some here, but I put a ZHP knob on with the stock leather boot. Can't get a factory leather boot alone, didn't like the few leather options available, and I'm not really a fan of the Alcantara for shifter/e-brake boots. I'm gunna go back in and redo the leather at the top where it meets the shifter to get rid of a few of the wrinkles if I can, but overall I'm happy to get rid of the faded gooseneck shifter. Sorry for the horrible quality photos.

This is problem I was wondering about also. I'm probably doing a manual swap here soon and was looking to keep the leather shift boot but you're saying you can't get a leather shift boot that fits the ZHP knob? I don't mind the alcantara shift boot but I'm keeping my leather wheel so wasn't sure how the mix of alcantara and leather would look.

Nothing that I like at least. If you can get one it looks like some type of weird Vinyl leather, not like the Nappa Leather that's in there now. The regular plain aftermarket options that come already with the frame just don't look like the stock one. They look....cheaper. That's just my opinion. You can always get just the leather and reuse the frame, but with my luck it would probably look like shit after I attempted it. I hated arts and crafts as a kid.

I only searched a little but I couldn't find a ZHP leather shift boot but I just thought I was missing it. I guess I'll just go the alcantara route then if that's the only choice.

Got tired of waiting for someone to make a catted equal length section 1 so I built my own.

The non-M E46 leather shift boot fits fine even though they're a 5 speed.
