    Lame.

Wonder if they gave you two different springs?

Unfortunately, I think Schmiedmann is super slow with parts that they don’t physically have in stock.

Received a core steering rack and started to disassemble to check the internals… only to discover the passenger capped end was so rusted that the c-ring lock had rusted to the cap and the steering rack tube. After some failed dremel work trying to cut the cap and the c-ring, I ended up cutting the tube in half to free the steering rack and access the pinion gear. Sad to lose a yellow tag, but at least I have a few spare items in case some yellow tags need rehabilitation.

The area I repaired came out ok. Not perfect, but I think I can level the primer just enough to make it invisible once colored and cleared

And this is the side I repaired.

Continuing my bumper repair saga, I applied the base coat and for the most part it came out good, but fucking novice mistake I made resulted in some splatters which will have me back to sanding land

this has been a learning and frustrating journey but is almost there

I had applied black sealer to help with color coverage and better matching. Sealer was supposed to be smooth but it has some texture and did not want on my finish so I had to wet sand it. But the repair is imperceptible to most

and this is how it looks now. You can see the splatters if you look closely. The issue was that when I did some test shots, I was not pulling the trigger all the way and cause some paint to run out of the tip, which clogged on nozzle and I did not notice this until I saw the splatters but the damage was already done

Trying to find the source of my coilver issues, LH higher than RH, more than normal, camber plates in drastically different positions to achieve approximately the same the camber, so I just started taking shit apart.

Removed the control arms/kingpin and in the process I gakked up the threads/bent the shaft of one outer tie rod and made a small tear on a control arm boot. Was getting pissed and using locally sourced tools that I modified to "work". But damn were those tie rods in there.

Measured everything every which way and found nothing, must just be my chassis I guess.

I will be installing my refurbished yellowtag (thanks davidinnyc), new inner/outer rods, new control arms/lollipops and will still be in the same position.

Really unfortunate as I need to get this car off the rack to check out another vehicle and about a month from now I will be doing RB's.

I will be wasting CHF11, one time use HW (will reuse reinforcement plate bolts for now), and my time, kind of unhappy with this situation, but hey, its not always a fun thing.

I think I see a tender lead in the smugglers compartment? I was just about to do the same thing but hadn’t planned it out yet. How did you attach the positive?

Thats wiring for the angel eyes I put in when I first bought the vehicle.

I do have this quick disconnect for a CTEK sitting in the tray that covers the battery however.

Received my fender braces in anticipation of ripping off the front end, installing the Euro bumper. In the process I'll pull the fenders and get these braces in place.

Received my order of Carbon Lorraine RC6E brake pads. I will see how they perform versus my current Pagid RSL1 on the front axle during the first track day when I swap them after the first stint.

Oh hell yeah, let me know when you install them, would be fun to swing by.

Have my own set waiting for the day the garage gets finished. I want to quantify the effect of all of these chassis stiffening mods and don't really want to be pulling the fenders on and off a bunch. Need a finished garage before that though.

No doubt! This winter all the paint work on the parts will be completed.

how do these things attach? since they're aluminum I'm guessing it's a bolt in job? if so that is very very appealing, and I'd probably do it same time as you are....when installing a euro bumper. Which, where did you source the euro bumper from? Seems like I should have bought one when they were like $250 instead of the $800 they are now.
