I installed the BMW floating center caps in my VMR wheels. I had the VMR caps and wanted to go to the normal BMW ones, but the floating ones weren't much more expensive, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I wasn't completely sold on the idea initially, thought it might be a little much, but they do look quite nice.
Clearance on the front is an issue on our cars, depending on the wheel they may not work at all. You need around 16mm depth of clearance from the outer edge of the wheel for the weight assembly. I was closer to 14 or 15 to the dust cap. I was able to tap around the dust cap with a punch and hammer to free up enough clearance for the weight to spin freely without having the cap interfere with the axle nut.
Rears fit perfectly with no work needed, lots of clearance available there. These caps aren't advertised to work with our wheels, and success with the fronts will likely vary by wheel model, brand, size, offset, and spacer usage. Mine are 19x8.5, 40mm offset and no spacers. I didn't have to modify the weight to trim it down or anything, but that is an option if you're crafty.
Excuse the dirty wheels, they were clean a few weeks ago but they get dusty so quick.
