It was my birthday last week so I put a few more miles on it.

Saw my cars in Bremerhaven Germany at the import company facility yesterday, very cool to see them for the first time on European soil. They are landed and cleared through customs, zero tax or duty required since it was part of a major household move/relocation. Not pictured, my wife's 986 which is actually way nicer than both of my cars lol.

The cars will be delivered to our shop sometime next week. I'm excited because this is a big milestone on our journey, but I'm also kind of dreading the process of getting these cars passed TÜV and registered for road use in Germany. There are so many small things that will need to change, and indeed, some pretty big things. It's going to snowball fast. I am really tight on funds right now so I have to approach it from an absolute essentials only point of view, only what must be changed to make the cars legal here. I don't have money for "upgrades" or "while you're in there" type of things.

I have to prioritize the 986 first since it's mostly stock, will be the easiest and cheapest to homologate, plus happy wife happy life etc... Next will be the E36, tbh that car is also significantly better positioned for success and won't need as many big ticket items to get up to snuff. The E46, well, that will be more of a long term project. But in other news, the sky is blue, water is wet, etc...

I also saw all of our household goods, here's a picture of some of that.

Mixed emotions there tbh. I have been enjoying a certain freeing feeling of not having any of my stuff to deal with for a few months. I've gotten used to living with less, in a vey small house, and now that I see all our stuff, I'm kind of like... Why the fuck did we bring all that?

But on the other hand, it makes sense practically. Price out what it would cost to furnish a house, office and garage, and how much the shipping costs for all of this was and it's not even close. SO which is better? Sell or give away all your stuff, pack a couple bags and go? Start fresh for real? Or pack it all, age yourself by about 5 years due to stress and do it this way? It's not really an easy choice. We're not "done" yet but at this point in time, I can say it was the right choice for us. But also... Fuck
