Saw my cars in Bremerhaven Germany at the import company facility yesterday, very cool to see them for the first time on European soil. They are landed and cleared through customs, zero tax or duty required since it was part of a major household move/relocation. Not pictured, my wife's 986 which is actually way nicer than both of my cars lol.

The cars will be delivered to our shop sometime next week. I'm excited because this is a big milestone on our journey, but I'm also kind of dreading the process of getting these cars passed TÜV and registered for road use in Germany. There are so many small things that will need to change, and indeed, some pretty big things. It's going to snowball fast. I am really tight on funds right now so I have to approach it from an absolute essentials only point of view, only what must be changed to make the cars legal here. I don't have money for "upgrades" or "while you're in there" type of things.

I have to prioritize the 986 first since it's mostly stock, will be the easiest and cheapest to homologate, plus happy wife happy life etc... Next will be the E36, tbh that car is also significantly better positioned for success and won't need as many big ticket items to get up to snuff. The E46, well, that will be more of a long term project. But in other news, the sky is blue, water is wet, etc...

I also saw all of our household goods, here's a picture of some of that.

Mixed emotions there tbh. I have been enjoying a certain freeing feeling of not having any of my stuff to deal with for a few months. I've gotten used to living with less, in a vey small house, and now that I see all our stuff, I'm kind of like... Why the fuck did we bring all that?

But on the other hand, it makes sense practically. Price out what it would cost to furnish a house, office and garage, and how much the shipping costs for all of this was and it's not even close. SO which is better? Sell or give away all your stuff, pack a couple bags and go? Start fresh for real? Or pack it all, age yourself by about 5 years due to stress and do it this way? It's not really an easy choice. We're not "done" yet but at this point in time, I can say it was the right choice for us. But also... Fuck

Are you opening an automotive shop? Also, do you speak the language as of yet?

Thank you! I found a workshop space to rent, so I’m just using it privately as a garage, storage and office. I don’t have plans for a customer facing business anytime soon. My German is spotty at best but it’s improving, slowly. LOL it’s a hard language

Been doing a “stock” restoration journey with my 5th E46. This was bit of an impulse purchase from my friend but the pedigree of 2006/ Slicktop/ 6MT and AW/ IR manual seats at 94K was hard to pass up. It had a nice parts list including complete Supersprint Stepped Headers, Section II & both Sport + Race mufflers that I removed. The only thing still left on the car is the SS stepped headers (waiting uninstall) and Autosolutions 30% SSK. Added was a Rennline phone mount + bluebus Bluetooth module. This car will be used as my nostalgic daily driver - how it’s looking today with refinished OEM 18” in shadow chrome - stock new suspension - reflector.

Lovely! I would have kept the Stepped headers.

made progress on my brake upgrade project: painted the Porsche Brembo calipers for the rear to match the fronts.

I think they came out pretty nice.

Now for a 1 week wait to cure until I can put the clearcoat on.

Picked up a pair of front rebuilt and painted calipers, I snapped one of the bleeder screws last time I bled the brakes. Found this pair for a really good price, much better than the old rusty pair I was planning to rebuild and fix.
                        Changed ambient temp sensor.

You do not like the SSK shifter?

I hope you don't mind me asking and if you do, no problem I don't mean to pry. But, how/why did you go from California to Germany?

I'll be doing my CMP rear subframe reinforcements this week!

Lots of things to do, reseal the rear diff and add solid subframe bushings, anything else I should do "while I am in there"

Spotted a crack on the passenger front , so that will get fixed prior

I also replaced 4 of the trailing arm ball joints as mine had 150K miles and they were flimsy!

My photos are way to large to upload on this forum!

I removed my motor to reseal and take care of the big 2 that are prone to this engine, refreshed all the seals and threw in some fresh coil packs.
